Please settle a debate 😀

I always do ours with baked beans for the kids and sketti hoops for me (none bb eater)

My mate has hers with bread and butter 😱

Peas and pickled red cabbage or beetroot.

Putting · 22/09/2024 09:55

Broccoli or cabbage

Changingplace · 22/09/2024 09:55

Some kind of green veg, broccoli or green beans. I have been known to have it with baked beans though.

I have it on its own!

My brothers all dump an entire tin of beans on top, husband likes it with HP sauce, but I think it's lovely by itself. Spaghetti hoops is just a crime though, sorry 🙃

Peas and pickled red cabbage or beetroot.

Absolutely 💯 this

Leftisbest · 22/09/2024 09:56

Broccoli and sprouts! Maybe a slice of bread as well. Oh, and loads of gravy!

Sprogonthetyne · 22/09/2024 09:56

Nothing, the point of cottage pie is that everything is already in there. If I was going to have something, bread and butter would definitely be what I'd go with, beans on the side would be far to much sloppy food together.

OldTinHat · 22/09/2024 09:56

Peas with a side of peas.

Comedycook · 22/09/2024 09:57

Just some sort of green veg....peas, broccoli, sugar snap peas, asparagus etc

KittyPup · 22/09/2024 09:57

Peas and gravy. Spaghetti hoops?!? 😱

treacledan71 · 22/09/2024 09:57

I put onions, mushrooms, carrots and peas in the mince so normally just some green beans or something green like broccoli. Gravy too.

Neinneinnein · 22/09/2024 09:57

A green vegetable such as broccoli, or maybe cauliflower.
Not bread and butter or beans.
Each to their own though.

Wigtopia · 22/09/2024 09:57

Dark greens like broccoli, kale, spinach

mynameiscalypso · 22/09/2024 09:58

My mum used to put baked beans in the cottage pie itself. Delicious.

We normally have greens though; peas, sautéed kale, broccoli or something like that. And tomato ketchup.

I don't really understand the bread and butter thing. How do you eat it with the cottage pie? And why? What does it add? It's intriguing!

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 22/09/2024 09:59

Cabbage of some sort, mine comes with peas, carrots and beans in it.

Edingril · 22/09/2024 09:59

We put peas and carrot in it so nothing

MrsWombat · 22/09/2024 10:00

Peas, carrots and gravy if we are having it as a "sunday dinner" or baked beans if it's a midweek supper.

Joystir59 · 22/09/2024 10:00

Loads of steamed veg

SoftandQuiet · 22/09/2024 10:00

peas

Okki · 22/09/2024 10:01

I put the baked bean in ours, so oodles of gravy and green veg on the side.

pilates · 22/09/2024 10:01

A green vegetable. Broccoli or peas or both

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 22/09/2024 10:03

Nothing. It has carrots, peas, green beans, sweetcorn and cauliflower (mashed into potatoes) in it already.

TheChosenTwo · 22/09/2024 10:03

Just greens on the side, cabbage and broccoli usually but not averse to green beans and kale.

Does it?!

LadyKenya · 22/09/2024 10:04

I would have spring greens, if in season, or some other type of green vegetable. Never peas though, as they are already in the cottage shepherds pie that I make.
