Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

I rarely shop at waitrose, it is overpriced. However I got my daughter a morrisons macaroni cheese ready meal a while ago, it looked/smelled like vomit...I have begrudgingly admitted morrisons own bakery stuff is good but their ready meals being crap is the hill I die on!

We'll have to agree to disagree. Many of their ready meals are lovely. It's just you!

I'm afraid you will die alone and unpopular. Morrisons is the most successful supermarket by revenue per capita

I don't recommend Morrisons cafes!

I don't recommend Waitrose cafes. Overpriced, dirty, cold food, rude staff, dirty tables, in my experience!

Who cares about Christmas points. Look at their delicious rotisserie chickens, their steak wraps their pizza by the metre

I can see the attraction if you want cheap processed food in quantity. But I wouldn’t ever go there for quality. Or a pleasant shopping experience.

Disasterclass · 06/09/2024 21:56

I like Morrison's. Their deliveries are good, rarely any substitutions, always turn up on time, cheery staff. But the staff in store are pretty miserable. I often use the self checkout and they really aren't keen on coming over when you have an age restricted product/ the weight is wrong.

A cafe opened in our one - lasted less than a year and never saw more than two people in it.

Their food is fresh. Not processed.

There’s a massive Morrisons in the town in which I work. I’ve been in there a handful
of times but I hate it. It’s scuzzy, poor quality and with dopey staff.

Chickydoo · 06/09/2024 21:57

I prefer Waitrose.

Are you sure it was a morrisons cafe. Not a independent cafe sharing the building?

On the rare occasions I’ve shopped at Morrisons, the stores are so awful and depressing that I’ve left feeling I’ve failed at life.

I think you need to show your workings on that one…it’s only got around 1/3rd the market share of Tesco. Aldi has a bigger market share than Morrisons, and I would guarantee has fewer staff as well….

The Morrisons near where I used to live had this weirdly incongruous party shop in it. Apparently you could order personalised cakes and decorations but I never saw any staff in there.

And yet you celebrate their pizza!

Freshly assembled from processed ingredients does not mean fresh!

FlyHalf · 06/09/2024 22:01

I'm getting a strong mental image of a Dalek that's been programmed to engage 50s housewives in 'lively discussion'. 'Incorrect! Morrisons has exemplary hygiene standards in their bakery! You will die lonely and disobedient if you fail to extol their 'picky bits' chiller cabinet!'

HouseofHolbein · 06/09/2024 22:01

I shop in Morrisons. I get 15% discount and it's walking distance from home.

If staff seem miserable it's because they are hugely understaffed. Every time there is a pay rise hours are cut to keep the wage bill the same.

I worked in the home delivery department at our store. I used to get my shopping delivered by Tesco 🤣🤣 would never have a Morrisons delivery the organisation is piss poor frankly.

Husband and daughter still work there because there isn't a lot of choice locally. Tbh it's better than Asda but that's as far as I will go 🤣🤣

You forgot to mention deluded as well.

I said per capita. Tesco Is 1st because it has way more stores. More stores of course = more revenue. If tesco and morrisons had the same number of stores morrisons would have more revenue. Hope my workings are clear enough for you.

For all my non fresh/frozen shopping - so basically anything in a tin or packet, toiletries and cleaning products - I prefer B+M or One Beyond. Or Savers for their excellent selection of shower gels.
@BoldRubyPoet what's your opinion on Morrisons non food products?

Tractorsanddiggers · 06/09/2024 22:02

I like their online shopping. It's hands down the most reliable. No substitutions ever. I've also been really disappointed on the shelf life of fruit and veg in other stores compared to morrisons.
The cafe is good, but not as good as pre covid. They use to do the best cheese toasties. Hand made with a mix of cheddar and red Leicester with butter on the outsides so it toasted deliciously.
Salad bar and deli is the best out of all supermarkets so I would tend to agree.
Also the staff in mine have been there forever and are super friendly. Offered to help me pack and take the shopping to the car when I had my newborn with me
