You have to see past the decoration! Is the house sound? Is it in a decent area? Decent schools? And what are the neighbours like? You can change the wallpaper and the "regal" loo :) Not so easy to change the environs and it's expensive to rebuild a house if it's falling down.

Mind you, decoration like that can hide a multitude of sins.

Oh I quite like it. I do love a victorian theme. Love the bedrooms. They have my bed too. Unfortunately my house is very cream. I do have some funky victorian furniture in my 80's house. Also a victorian downstairs loo complete with high cistern

The Atkinson's were very happy there.

They'll be taking most of that with them.
However I couldn't live with a black kitchen or a gold sink.
However it's 1,000 times better than the ubiquitous grey and greige.
