I bled properly at 8, 9 and I think 16 weeks. Almost like a period. Never found out what it was but had a successful twin pregnancy.

Fingers crossed for you xx

I totally understand. Are you still bleeding or was it just a short bleed?
Do you have any stomach cramps?

I have no experience to share, but wanted to send a hug, I'm sure all will be well with baby but I totally understand the worry. Can you afford a private scan? At your stage they are usually a bit cheaper than super early ones. Waiting till next Wednesday is cruel :(

red blood when I wipe, but not a lot now. No stomach cramps, a bit of mild back pain maybe

I had bright red bleeding at 7 and 15 weeks with second baby, it stopped and everything was fine in the end. Don't know what it was! Midwives didn't want to see me as it stopped on its own. Hope yours stops soon and that you have a smooth pregnancy!

Thank you so much this is very kind. I’m just waiting for my husband to get home from work then we may potentially go for a private scan

Was it heavy at all?

OP posts:
cinnamonbiscuit · 19/08/2024 17:22

@YourBusyTurtle not super heavy but pretty steady bleeding for a few hours, enough to panic me! I don't think the amount of blood necessarily means it has to be something bad.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 19/08/2024 17:24

I had that - 13 weeks gushing bright red blood, a day after my 12 week scan, classic. DD’s fine, currently jumping off the windowsill onto sofa cushions 🙃 good luck!

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 19/08/2024 17:25

Also my friend bled all the way through her pregnancy and the baby was totally fine.

Thank you for replying! This is reassuring thank you! Did they know what caused it?

My heavy heavy bleeding pregnancy resulted in a daughter who moved into her own home this year - hope it works out as well for you.

No idea no, they said it’s just one of those things. Sorry not very helpful!

Thank you! No this is actually really helpful as they said they couldn’t see a reason for mine when I first started spotting x

I had this in my pregnancy at 8 weeks and 16 weeks I bled really heavy, thought it was my waters and there were clots and everything, and they never found the cause, they said it was more than likely cervical, and my 6 week old is in my arms as i type, so try not to worry its actually quite common, fingers crossed for you. Xox

mindutopia · 19/08/2024 17:38

I had heavy bleeding with both of my healthy pregnancies. With first it was at 11 weeks, only lasted 20 minutes or so but was literally gushing out.

With 2nd, I bled heavily, like soaking through clothes, for 2 weeks 7-9 weeks. Actually the only time I didn’t have heavy bleeding was when I had a missed miscarriage. 6 weeks of waiting and not a bit of bleeding, I needed surgery because it didn’t happen naturally.

It is really scary, but even heavy bleeding doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad. No consensus on what caused mine, but it seemed to come from my cervix, so midwife said likely just a tricky cervix that bled easily. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I bled from 7-19 weeks after 3 miscarriages, bright red blood, massive clots and alot of blood. I just got used to it really and just worked on the theory and was told no bad pain = good. Hope all is ok it is such a worry though!! X

LifeAtForty · 19/08/2024 19:12

I bled with my daughter from about 7-24 weeks! They never gave me a reason but she is now 8 and cuddled up next to me.

It was never heavy or with clots (like my miscarriage) but it was bright red and can only be described as gushes.

Will keep you in my thoughts and crossing all for the same outcome xxx
