Oh @YourBusyTurtle, you poor thing. What an awful worry for you!

I went through the same at 9 weeks pregnancy and had a very heavy bleed over a number of days. Absolutely no option for private scanning and local hospital was rubbish at the time. It started on a Friday evening and they said I'd have to wait until Monday am for EPU scan. It was scary and upsetting and I found it all so terribly traumatic. He's currently outside playing football with a group of friends.

All I can say is take a couple of paracetamol and try and get your DH to take responsibility for looking after the little ones until you get checked. Hopefully he can take tomorrow off. Do some meditation and try and take notes on your bleeds and if there is any pain.

My inclination would be to go to A&E anyway, especially if you are worried. Although I had that option too at the time and opted to stay at home as I didn't have huge faith in the hospital.

I hope you and your little baby are ok, sending you love xx

Thank you so much!

thankfully my amazing MIL has our LG overnight and she will be at nursery tomorrow and my husband is taking tomorrow off so I have a wonderful support network. It just makes me want to squeeze my LG even more

im just so anxious and upset I can’t focus on anything else x

I think so too. I’d rather be tucked up in bed an anxious mess than waiting in A&e x

I’ve been in a variety of similar situations and they really won’t do anything in A&E until you are bleeding very heavily. And that does mean more than a pad every 30 minutes. Even then when I was sent to A&E by 111 I was left in the waiting room with pads after they took bloods and determined I wasn’t in immediate danger. 4 hours later I had a massive bleed where blood was pouring out of me. Only then did they act. The reality is - and this is awful - there is nothing they can do beyond life saving measures for you if needed. And more often they aren’t. It is just desperately sad.

Jinglejangle2 · 19/08/2024 21:17

I had bright red bleeding at around 11 weeks. All was fine, and when I went for a scan the doctor said it's not uncommon. Try not to worry if you can - easier said than done though.

I hope all turns out well for you OP, thinking of you! 💐
Have you ever bled after a smear test or told you have a cervical etcropian? Just asking as I have one and bled through my pregnancy (all turned out fine and they confirmed it was cervical etcropian). I also bleed heavily after smears.
Hope your scan goes well tomorrow xx

I'm so glad you have such a great support network around you, that's great.

Unexplained bleeds can happen. I know it's disturbing but at 15 weeks you are ticking along nicely so fingers and toes crossed for you that it's just one of those things sent to us parents to drive us to despair.

Easier said than done but try and do a little bit of guided meditation and try and be extra kind to yourself until you get seen tomorrow.

I thought this would be the case x

No bleeds after a smear test or discussions about cervical ectropian x

Could you drive to a bigger hospital within 1-2 hours of where you live where they might have an EPU that’s open now?

I might be wrong but I think there’s a “right to choose” law which means you can be seen at any trust. I’m not sure if that applies to maternity care

They won’t. EPU is a non emergency service.

I bled bright red, gushing and passing clots, at 14 weeks. It was a subchorionic hematoma, all fine baby is now 1 month old. Very scary but very common. Have you been cramping?

Slight niggles but nothing noticeable (I think I’m noticing more aches cause I’m paranoid about it now) x had a scan a week ago and they could see a SCH x

I had some niggles, but no major cramps. Almost felt fluttery like butterflies, very odd feeling.

Just try and bed rest yourself, no baths or swimming or heavy lifting, or sex. Hopefully the bleeding eases off. Can you get a private one tomorrow?
