I had this too a bit with my first pregnancy and all was fine. Was told it was cervical ectropian too. Also anterior placenta. However was more spotting really / not lots. Was very worrying at the time however.

However, if threshold for A and E is higher, how about nipping along to the labour ward / early preg unit? They usually have lots of posters up about popping in if worried about reduced movement etc, so could you turn up because or this? I did this hence the ectropian diagnosis and they also used a doppler which was quite reassuring. They didn't question that I came in although it might have been a few phonecalls and it continuing before they advised to do so.

Annoyingly at my trust EPU is up to 16 weeks and is only open 9-5. I spoke to them earlier and they just said I need to go to A&e overnight if it gets unmanageable x

OP I hope you’re as ok as can be. I know the wait is terrifying. I know you’re likely seeking reassurance stories only, but unfortunately I’ve had late losses after ‘healthy/normative’ twelve week scans. Not sharing to scare you. I’ve also bled in other pregnancies that I carried to term. If you are still worried tomorrow, attend your EPU. I know each region varies but generally my experience is that they will scan you if you are really worried and presenting with good clinical reason. Try get some rest tonight. And be kind to yourself: lifting a toddler (or walking) is really really unlikely to have done this. It’s just shite luck. Hopefully you’ve answers soon x

How many weeks were you? My husband is going to call an ambulance if it gushes out of me like it did earlier (he was at work at the time) x

I wouldn’t be able to stand the anxiety OP. Do get checked.

Thank you for this. This is my third pregnancy with varying successes - first was a MMC no symptoms at all, second I bled pre 12 weeks and she is now 18 months old and this is the third pregnancy the only pregnancy I’ve had fresh blood, so know all too well the varying degrees of success x

Are you in any pain? My miscarriages were painful and I had labour type pains.

I have a private scan tomorrow eve/booked in at EPU on Wednesday. That is the soonest I can get scanned anywhere. I can’t stand it either, I’m just in bits x

Mine is anterior, but they haven’t said anything about its position xxx

Anterior is the position. It means at the back of the uterus. That’s unlikely to cause bleeding.

Slight niggling/lower back pain, but not sure if that’s cause I’m now anxious x

When you say heavy how heavy is heavy?

ComeTheFcukOnBridget · 19/08/2024 20:48

Ah sorry yes just saw your updates. Well at a minimum I guess you could just show up first thing tomorrow if you don't end up trying A and E tonight. Better than waiting until later in the week for the proper scan, and once you're there they'll probably see you. Fingers crossed it is fine. I believe bleeding is quite common, but never ideal and of course you want to know what's up. X

That’s insane…what do they want you to do until next Wednesday if you didn’t have that? Carry on life as normal, get up and head to work, do the shopping, eat, sleep, live…when that is going on.

I hope you get an answer before then.

Honestly nothing surprises me anymore after how bad they were when I had a MMC x

@YourBusyTurtle how are you feeling hen? Any more back ache?

Do you have a hospital local that specialises with only women and pregancy cases?

Crossing everything for a happy outcome for you. X

Daisy95 · 19/08/2024 20:57

I literally had this last week, I'm 15 weeks, was literally like I came on my period. I had a scan through my early pregnancy unit and all was completely fine. When they checked me said it was just my cervix no real cause of it. But do try to stay positive, I know it so hard to feel like that. Sending lots of love xx

Just a light lower back ache/tightness!

no I wish I did, but my only option is A&e unfortunately x

Op I would just head to a and e and be seen.

As others have said bleeding can be fine, but it needs checked now at your stage. I had multiple losses, and it was horrific.

At 15 weeks please go and be seen. X

A&E won’t don’t anything unless it’s dangerously heavy. They will send you away with the same instructions OP currently has.

YourBusyTurtle · 19/08/2024 20:16

How soon can you find out if you have placenta previa! My placenta is anterior but that’s all they’ve said x

It can’t be anterior and prévia. Anterior is the position (back of uterus). Prévia is bottom of uterus.

I think so too. I’d rather be tucked up in bed an anxious mess than waiting in A&e x

Oh @YourBusyTurtle, you poor thing. What an awful worry for you!

I went through the same at 9 weeks pregnancy and had a very heavy bleed over a number of days. Absolutely no option for private scanning and local hospital was rubbish at the time. It started on a Friday evening and they said I'd have to wait until Monday am for EPU scan. It was scary and upsetting and I found it all so terribly traumatic. He's currently outside playing football with a group of friends.

All I can say is take a couple of paracetamol and try and get your DH to take responsibility for looking after the little ones until you get checked. Hopefully he can take tomorrow off. Do some meditation and try and take notes on your bleeds and if there is any pain.

My inclination would be to go to A&E anyway, especially if you are worried. Although I had that option too at the time and opted to stay at home as I didn't have huge faith in the hospital.

I hope you and your little baby are ok, sending you love xx
