Would you like to be tall?

I am a very short person (155cm). Watching the women's basketball and at least one of the players is nearly 2m tall - wow!
Got me wondering that I'd like to live the life of a tall person for a weekend (clothing issues aside, both ends of the scale can't quite get clothes to fit).
So, presuming I could have a comfy outfit, I'd love to see life as someone so tall for a little bit (and then probably relish going back to being Mrs Pepperpot again - I get vertigo!)
Any other shorties think this might be fun?
(Or curly girls wanting straight hair; slim wanting to try curvy etc; a brunette hankering after blonde? - I think we all want what we don't have)

Disadvantages and advantages to everything.

Small people fit in small spaces more easily (plane seats), are easier to get clothes for. In addition they eat less so probably save a lot on food over their lifetime and on booze if they like drinking. Back problems are more common in tall people.

I don't think being small as a woman is anywhere near as bad as being small if you are a man.

I'm 5'11, and am in no way unfeminine thank you very much!
Like Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift, Uma Thurman, Geena Davis... basically all the supermodels are a similar height.

I have way, way too many clothes and shoes so if the odd thing has to go back for not fitting properly, that's a good thing really.

Never been asked to reach for anything at the supermarket.

Had to beat men (of all heights) off with a stick until I got old and squishy.

I'm the same height as you. I think it would be fascinating to spend a week/weekend as a tall person! I wonder if life would be harder or easier. Or just different.

We could reach the top shelf at the supermarket - which would be a novelty!

No, I like being short. I'm 156cm. I've always had good attention for it, and I love it when people meet me in real life and are genuinely surprised by how short I am. I give off tall person vibes on Teams, apparently 😁

One of my colleagues had this. We all joined during lockdown and I was convinced she was tall - she is teeny. She gives off tall person vibes!

4 foot 10 here and find it so hard to buy any clothes for bottom half. My legs are the shortest than top half and inside leg I need about a 25/ 26 inch!

It's a bugger. I would love a 26 inch leg. Very very rare to find

I think in general most people aspire to be shorter rather than taller.

I dint think that’s true, perhaps different generations feel differently?

We as a nation aren’t getting taller though

Well we were getting taller until recently and now we are getting shorter - it's not a good thing

I am 4ft 11. Love to be taller. Was on a ladder at work the other day and same height as my colleague. Weird feeling. Could see over the cabinet. I think I would also look thinner!

Yep, this sums it up

I'm 5ft 3, I'd like to be 5ft 6, seems perfect to me for some reason!

Comedycook · 06/08/2024 22:24

I'm 5'2"/5'3"...I absolutely don't want to be taller or shorter. I feel average in flats or heels so that suits me.

rainydogday · 06/08/2024 22:53

I am 5"10 used to be 5"11, then age shrunk me! I like being tall but I can never find trousers that fit. Also dresses look like tunics. Swim suits go up your bum. I now have some very tall children 15 old 6"5 and I can't find trousers that fit him either! Also family cars are really tricky as need lots of leg room. I think 5"7/8 would be an ideal height?!

Bichette · 06/08/2024 23:09

I'm perfectly happy at 5'5"
If I had to choose between being taller or shorter, I would choose shorter as long I had a more petite physique as well.

Oblomov24 · 06/08/2024 23:43

Yes. I'm very short and I wish I was taller, not too tall though.
