Who do your parents irrationally hate?

My dad hates Lulu. Can't stand her voice. My mum hates Michael Flatley as apparently he loves himself!

I could write you a looooong list. I'm not sure my DM likes anyone though…

At the minute Tom Daley ‘ because he is on everything’

Any celebrity that has been on Strictly - because ‘they always get on everything’

Was trying to think if my parents had any celeb hates but they hated each other so probably didn’t have room for a celeb one!

My late mother had an aversion to Petula Clark and would turn the volume down if she was on. She never could articulate why she disliked Petula, beyond saying she thought she was 'smug'.

Roy Chubby Brown is an enormously stupid bordering on fascist dickhead, and pisses me off like the howling tosser Jim Davidson.

Fiona Bruce. Apparently, the antiques roadshow has now become the Fiona Bruce show. However, reading the celebrities on this thread I don't like most of them. Help! Am I turning into my mother?

My mother dislikes all women celebs, newsreaders, actresses etc.
She quite likes David Suchet.

My mum hated Barbra Streisand's voice and would switch her off if she was on the radio or TV, said she was to loud and held the notes for too long and it got on her nerves. 😆

She did make an exception for Barbra's record with Neil Diamond, You Don't Bring Me Flowers, as she was very keen on Neil.

DDad loved The Last of the Summer Wine, I hated it.
Dirty, letching, small-minded, humourless old gits.
And Mr Tumble IS the creepiest thing on children’s TV.

And Robert Peston. Used to look so well-groomed.

DH says this. Calls her 'Whispering Bruce '.

My Mum hates Terry Wogan, Les Dawson, Des O Connor and anyone on ITV actually! She's a true BBC supporter (we haven't discussed Huw Edwards outcome) 😳

My grandmother hated Adele with a passion 'why the bloody hell does she sound like a washed up dolphin in pain and why the bloody hell does she want to chase a pavement' in her croaky whine voice 🤣🤣🤣

Dad- oh loads of people, but Woody Allen stands out in my memory- quite rightly so- and Bob Geldof (less clear why)

Mum- those two daft twats from morning tv in the eighties- what are they called? The Chuckle Brothers. I can’t stand them either, or Trevor and Simon or Timmy Mallet. All those slapstick comedy folk make me feel ill. I must get it from my mum.

My dad hates her. He calls her "Esther Rancid." He also dislikes Shane Richie and Graham Norton.
My mum doesn't like Richard Madeley. She's always commenting on how awful it must be for poor Judy being married to him.
They both hate our local BBC news reader.

I know what you mean about his faces! He loves himself sooo much! My mum has the hots for him. I think he looks like a baboon.

My mum hates will Ferrell and Madonna! If my older kids could comment they would say Tom cruise

My mum can’t stand Jim Carrey the only exception is when he’s the grinch.
my Nan hated Cila Black because apparently she used to hang out with Cilas brother until Cila put a stop to it.

I loved lulu as an entertainer but I couldn't believe she was a singer famous in the 60s she literally couldn't sing and sounded like a strangled cat.

My Nan couldn’t stand Jamie Oliver when he was really popular. I think it was because I liked him 😂.

My late father hated Cilla Black. Her voice, her accent and he said she had horrible big hands. My mother’s dislikes? I’d have to ask her.

My dad hated Thatcher too (good for him). I think I had an irrational hatred of the Iron Lady when I was a kid, because her voice and weird hairdo creeped me out (see also Michael Jackson). I can't claim to have had any particular intuition though, as I thought Jimmy Savile was great (shudder).

Mum and Stepdad hate Megan Markle. Can't even discuss with them.
Stepdad hated Americans when we were growing up, he would never let us watch US sitcoms if he was in the room.
My dad hated Richard Attenborough - called him "The Little Shit" and David Attenborough (who he liked) "The Little Shit's Brother"

My mum inexplicably loathed Daphne on Eggheads, no idea why. Mum would mutter and swear under breathe when she saw her on TV.. "ooh I'm Daphne neh neh f**ing old boot"
