Who do your parents irrationally hate?

My dad hates Lulu. Can't stand her voice. My mum hates Michael Flatley as apparently he loves himself!

I like Jeremy Clarkson since his farm programmes ( which are brilliant ) and Millionaire , but lots of people dislike him! His a marmite character for sure

My late mum was one of those who thought everyone was wonderful generally - but she really, REALLY took a dislike to Robbie Williams off Take That.

We all in my family could have written that first paragraph! We had to give up with Suspect after the first episode too for the same reason.

Rob Brydon. My Dad literally yells "oh no not him!" when he comes on the TV.

I don’t remember Mum really disliking anyone…except maybe Tyne Daly cos my Dad liked her 😄

My mum randomly doesn’t like Rita ora, the only reason she could give is because Rita ora had a party during covid…. I mean so did the whole government, but you know. Not sure about my dad. My Nan used to hate Daniel O’Donnell…. For some strange reason.

It would be quicker to name anyone they DO like!

This is a great question and is making me nostalgic.

My dad disliked Felicity Kendal because of her 'little girly' demeanour. His idea of a sex symbol was Sophia Loren - 'all woman'.

My mum was quite tolerant in general but she loathed Frank Butcher on EastEnders and had to avoid episodes featuring him. She wasn't a fan of the Mitchell brothers either - so three of the most classic characters in EE history.

Ah, my dad also adored Tyne Daly @augustusglupe . He was glued to Cagney and Lacey every week.

My MIL hated Fatima Whitbread because my FIL had a soft spot for her.

Bob Dylan.

My grandad adored Dusty Springfield but despised Robert maxwell. Used to talk about him all the time and it wasn't until I was older I had a clue who he was!

My mum hated Murray Walker. Said he never shut up!

The Viz comic character Cockney Wanker reminds me of Frank Butcher. Where I differ from your mum is that I hate all the characters on EastEnders, not just one. The voices drive me up the wall - so much SHAHHHTING. We stopped watching it about 6 months ago, and don't miss it a bit.

Oh, my Dad despises Mike Oldfield as well. He says Tubular Bells sounds like an ice cream van with a wheel clamp on it.

It's true @SeeSeeRider , nobody can talk normally, just yell in an overdramatic manner. I don't watch it regularly, just tune in now and again to marvel at how many more new secret kids all the characters somehow have.

My mum did a bit of childminding in the 70s and had a guide for childminders with a picture of Jimmy Savile on the front! Purporting to be written by him (but obviously wasn't really). She said 'what does he know about childminding, more like childcatching' with a shudder. Prescient!

Dad wouldn't allow Maureen Lipman or Victoria Wood on. No reason given.

Mum hates Tom Cruise, so much so that I cannot watch a Tom Cruise film because now I also hate him. Also Meghan and Harry.

My father is scared of Madonna and has been for 30+ years.
