Who do your parents irrationally hate?

My dad hates Lulu. Can't stand her voice. My mum hates Michael Flatley as apparently he loves himself!

I think Chris Tarrent was always horrible. His ex wife said to the tabloids he made her watch Millionaire over and over, apparently ( I once read , probs 'the news of the world ' who didn't like anyone )

I like that the character of Frank Spencer has been dismissed as unfunny....it's too close to a learning disability for my tastes.
My mother thought along the same lines.

My mum cannot stand Harry and Meghan. Hates Meghan more though. I've given up trying to defend them!

I think that Frank Spencer did have a learning disability and there's probably lots of reasons it's been cancelled despite being fairly successful at the time and had lots of viewers.
A relative of mine and one of my friends also has an awful dislike of Harry and Meghan too. It amazes me that you can dislike people that much and you have never met them and never will tbh , but a lot of this is fuelled by certain sections of the media I think.

Started watching the first series of Suspect and had to stop part way through the first episode. It was creepy anyway, set in a morgue, but James Nesbitt's overacting and mugging were getting on both my tits and DH's.

Grandpa could not stand George Formby, and Grandma told us he used to shout 'SHUT UP, YOU BLOODY FOOL!' at the telly whenever someone called Bob Danvers-Walker was on. He had a posh voice and did voiceovers especially for wartime newsreels ("Our chaps have really hit Jerry for six!'). Grandpa hated him with a passion.

Has Frank Spencer been cancelled? Its still on iPlayer?

With her on Mr Tumble. Can't understand why do many mums love him.

Oh yes mum and dad are united in their dislike of Carol Klein! I’d forgotten that one

Another vote for Meghan markle. Absolutely bizarre hatred for her.

My late mum didn't like Alan Titchmarsh much !
No idea why. He seems ok. Sometimes it's just irrational
( or on tv a lot and you become bored with them maybe? That can happen )

Amanda Holden.

Apparently she used Cilla (blind date) and Les Dennis (married him) to gain fame and fortune.....

My mum hated Barry Humphries. Also Shirley Bassey, though I think it was a bit of jealousy as Dad lurved her.

Oh and Vera Lynn. "Forces sweetheart my foot. When she played to your uncle's squadron, they were told any man who didn't turn up.would be on a charge."
She also hated "old films". (Iethe films of her youth)Couldn't understand why me and dh loved them.

My late mil didn't like anyone much , but she particularly hated Blue Peter because they used animals for entertainment!

Dad hated Ant and Dec! Wouldn’t have them on the box - said they were talentless!

Miriam Margoyles because she's "very rude to people" and is "unpleasant".

I knew the father of a British female actor and he hated Des O Connor. When he met Des at a swanky party he found he was the nicest guy and they had a great evening together.

I can see why people are not keen on Ant and Dec though. Especially the Saturday night takeaway awful programme and the fuss Dec made having to host it alone when Ant was punished for his drink / driving that time.
