In search of old-fashioned loo roll...(title edited by MNHQ at request of OP)

I am deeply weird and hate quilted toilet roll. I hope I’m using the right term. It’s what most stuff is like now - embossed and thick. I just want boring old plain loo roll. Until recently I was making trips to Waitrose just to buy their Essentials stuff but it’s just changed. I find it hard to tell in shops when you get packaging that isn’t transparent but I haven’t seen any obvious plain old-fashioned rolls for quite a while.

Can anyone tell me if it still exists and where?

Thanks so much for the update! We have been coping just about with the Sainsbury’s super softer ones but my autistic DS will be thrilled to get back to normal. Though before I get him excited could someone possibly update if they really are back to what we expect? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hilarious, I was shocked when they changed it, good old waitrose listening to their customers

Hi i managed to get some yesterday and i had still kept a couple of rolls of the original. So on the left is the HOLY GRAIL and new one is on right. New one isnt quite as thick ie the roll. But its the same feel same markings etc and very hefty hope it makes your DS smile ! Apologies for rubbish pic i had to crop and rotate as i couldnt upload otherwise
