Still don't really understand why he went into politics in the first place. Maybe he didn't expect to get so far so fast

I think he's probably incredibly ambitious and from a background where the pressure to 'succeed' is overwhelming. The draw of the office of PM must be an incredibly strong one. Its likely he never really considered the realities of being PM, particularly following Boris and Truss and their legacies.

BestIsWest · 09/07/2024 15:13

Do we get speeches from all the leaders? Including you know who?

Igotjelly · 09/07/2024 15:13

I wonder if Diane Abbott has a health condition that makes her shake slightly, certainly looks that way.

NoDishiForRishi · 09/07/2024 15:14

Oof grumbles...

cardibach · 09/07/2024 15:15

I thought that @tobee

Yup. Ugh.

newnamethanks · 09/07/2024 15:16

I suspect Rishi was perfectly happy counting things and messing around with spreadsheets as Chancellor. He really was a 'least worst' option as, perhaps reluctant, Tory PM given the alternatives.

Evenstar · 09/07/2024 15:16

@tobee I think she is probably quite frail, she struggled up the step in the Lords and fell behind the others in the procession. I was concerned about her when she announced she would be standing again as an MP, she had two people helping her back to her car and her voice seemed weak.

tobee · 09/07/2024 15:16

"Yup. Ugh."

Might be time to switch off then.

NoDishiForRishi · 09/07/2024 15:16

I do like Stephen Flynn. Glad he kept his seat.

cardibach · 09/07/2024 15:18

Oh fuck here he goes

tobee · 09/07/2024 15:18

No!!!!

Tv off now thank you

tobee · 09/07/2024 15:19

I'm on holiday so it's a bit tragic I'm watching in the first place

cardibach · 09/07/2024 15:19

Couldn’t manage respect for 2 mins then, Farage?

newnamethanks · 09/07/2024 15:19

O bloody hell. Looking at Farage makes me think that David Icke's reptile theory may have some truth to it.

DuncinToffee · 09/07/2024 15:20

pathetic little man

Igotjelly · 09/07/2024 15:21

Wow the pink hair and green suit combo is quite something! Like a character out of Willy Wonka.

Liz is fab and the hair is a bit of a signature.
