How do Rishi and Keir manage to move house so quickly?

Did Rishi move his stuff out of number 10 before election day or did he do it today? I am moving house at the moment and I can’t imagine how they do it so quickly? I read Michelle Obama’s book and in America there is a long time between the election and the new president talking over and that gives them time to plan the move but it still went pretty quick.

My point was that Downing Street was never his never his own home where he would have had his own furniture etc that would need to be moved. Yes he has a house in Kensington as well as a bloody great mansion in Yorkshire!

Just helping you with facts. Apparently he did serve Christmas drinks from his Yorkshire mansion each year, however, to the plebs local villagers like the Lord of the manor

@Jasmineinthegarden Gordon Brown was not married in 1997 when the Blairs and he moved into Downing St.

It's his office, a few photos, some bits of paper. After 25 years in my old job, it took about 2 mins to leave, abd Rishi was only there about 18 months and probably had help...

Gosh, all these teachers risking their employment by telling their friends confidential information about high profile pupils.......bet they didn't realise their friends would plaster that all over mumsnet.....

It's far from just his office though, as many have said on the thread.

I used to work for an Embassy, and on change of Ambassadors they always had a new mattress , so presumably number 10 will do the same with the incoming occupant choosing what thickness etc. they want.

Then they were allowed to redecorate their private quarters but had a budget, and had to put them back to neutral before they departed. Teams came in and worked very quickly. I often wonder what happened to Boris’s gold wall paper!
