We need migration no one is taking about legal migration, there is strict rules round that, and yes illegal was only 30k. As labour have just let the migrants know they won’t be popping off to Rwanda, it’s about to be open season here,

The poster that I replied to was clearly talking about legal and illegal migration. They said “allowing hundreds of thousands of migrants” which is clearly a reference to the overall net migration figures and not the much smaller small boats crossing number.

I think it’s also worth saying that illegal is not the same as small boats. Most illegal immigrants enter the country legally, not in small boats. Unlike many countries we don’t check when people leave the country, so are not good at picking up on people who have entered legally but overstayed.

Sorry I mean illegal migration

Illegal migration is not in the hundreds of thousands.

Illegal migration is not in the hundreds of thousands.

Yes, numbers released in March by the Home Office are clear: illegal immigrants arriving by small boats in 2024 so far amount to 4,644. 4,644 across three months. If that trend continues for the rest of the year, that will amount to 18.5k in total. So definitely NOT hundreds of thousands.

Legal migration, which is necessary for the economy, absolutely dwarfs those numbers.

Posters should bother to do the research before making wild claims!

What about those that have landed & disappeared into the system- why do they feel the need to destroy paper & passports? You need to get your facts checked also!

Gingernan · 06/07/2024 14:52

Oh woe and thrice woe.
Give them a chance,Labour have inherited a horrendous situation. I think they know what they are getting into.
The rise of Reform? Has no one any morals? I don't want to live in that world.

Not disputing there will be some who slip through the net, but where's the proof those run into hundreds of thousands? That's the figure you claimed, so you must have the facts to back that up? Because I've now looked and can't find those numbers quoted anywhere.

Allowing hundreds of thousands of migrants into the country can only impact the NHS, that’s from a pragmatic point of view not a racist point of view. Even my black & Asian friends say enough is enough! Have you got any evidence they will make it better?

A lot of immigrants (disproportionate to their numbers) work in the NHS. Without immigrants, the NHS would collapse in many places.

Increased demand on the NHS is caused mainly by an ageing (mostly non-immigrant) population and insufficient availability of social care (much of which is provided by immigrants).

I'm not saying that there are NO valid concerns about immigration. But this isn't one of them.

So did Starmageddon & his lot, beer & curry, they are all hypocrites😩

That is untrue, as you know. Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak received fines for partygate. Keir Starmer did not.

Stop trying to make the Tory low morals excusable by saying others share them. Roll around in your own shit, but don’t assume other people are there with you.

They don’t and are not.

Wait until the honeymoon period is over, & you can’t get an appointment at the Gps, dentist. Your kids kids cant get a school of their choosing, won’t be able to buy a house/ or social housing because they will house the migrants first, they will tax everything that moves- Reform will just grow & grow 😆

Haven't they already set up a meeting to end the strikes next week. Who you are talking about is the Tories and what they did to the NHS. Tories don't like public services they pay for their health care and send their children to private schools. The Reform party is for the likes of you and the minority who think like you.

Angela Raynor is a fucking inspiration. from her background to get to where she has - amazing. bloody brilliant and the fact it may annoy reform cultists all the better.

I dont think she has anything to be proud of.

Well not when it was breaking the rule they implemented no. The police fines that they had to pay are a rather big clue on that one.

verdantverdure · 07/07/2024 06:26

I'm feeling relieved, calm, more relaxed, like I can take my eye off the ball now because the grown ups have got it.

I'm excited about how different this country can be, and what we can achieve with a government which has a better solution to prison over-crowding other than telling the police to arrest less people (!)

What is the difference between Boris having cake & beer & labour lot having curry & beers? Is because the tories implemented lockdown? 🤔 incidentally I dont agree with it one jot

The difference is that the rules were different. What Boris and co. did was against the rules in force at that time. What KS did was not against the rules which were in force at that time - which was not the same time frame. Beergate was investigated twice and nothing found. The impression people like you give is that you are sore losers.

No not really- you cleared up what the difference was 😊

@Mt61 what I cleared up was fact. You don't want to believe what I said, so go look it up. Clearly you believe that the poor Tories were hard done by and persecuted by the evil police. Which is hilarious.

Then what rationale do you have for saying that the Beergate was exactly the same as Partygate? Because in law, it wasn't. And that is a fact.

If that's a type then no, it wasn't. Do a little reading. Wanting to believe something doesn't make it so.

ALT72 · 09/07/2024 11:27

Hope those who voted Labour are happy now. The country will soon be overrun with immigrants using our NHS, benefits, housing and yes Labour wants to raise tax to cover these costs. Labour made a mess last time and almost bankrupt the country after inheriting a healthy public finances left by the Tories government in 1997. Oh and not forgetting that Labour sold the entire gold reserves at rock bottom price.
