Sort of

DryIce · 04/07/2024 20:04

I mean the last big election news we got was waking up after the Brexit vote and seeing the exit polls for Boris - we're traumatised!

79Helene · 04/07/2024 20:06

Not really. Think I'm more nervous to find out just how many people are wiling to vote Reform.

DontBiteTheCat · 04/07/2024 20:07

Nervous excitement I would say.

There’s always a “What if…” but I’m still confident!

NewUser1111 · 04/07/2024 20:08

No. I think this time this is it.

(prepared to return to this thread in a few hours and laugh hollowly at my foolish naivety!)

@DryIce yes. I worry about waking up and feeling that same dread in my stomach as I did post Brexit.

Jellykat · 04/07/2024 20:12

Yes definitely.. im worried lots of people wont bother going to vote, as theres been so much publicity re. Labour being a dead cert.

CurlewKate · 04/07/2024 20:13

There's a massive turnout. Which could be bad news.

Ohhhhh I can't bear it. They have to go please 🙏

Jellykat · 04/07/2024 20:21

A big turn out could be good, people want their voices heard or some such..or are you thinking a big turn out = voting for Reform @CurlewKate ? 😞

DramaLlamaBangBang · 04/07/2024 20:23

I feel a little less nervous now I see that the 1992 election was much closer re the polling than it is this time.

CurlewKate · 04/07/2024 20:23

@Jellykat Reform. And older and shy Tories.

I was going to have a cocktail. But I don't feel frivolous enough. Red wine it is.

WhereAreWeNow · 04/07/2024 20:25

No. I'm feeling confident and excited. Even with Reform in the mix, I don't see any scenario where Labour don't win. It's just a question of by how much.
And I'm usually a super cautious pessimist!

TheMayoWayo · 04/07/2024 20:25

Everyone I know is NOT voting Labour myself included.

I think this will be another brexit vote. Everyone so sure it's going to go one way and it doesn't

And do you know why it doesn't, because anyone who feels different or may still want to vote Conservative or reform get battered down so much they keep their mouths shut and stick to what they want to do.

I don't think it's going to be a labour landslide

Jellykat · 04/07/2024 20:26

Dear god no @CurlewKate , but i totally get where you're coming from, after the Boris/ Brexit shitstorm!!!

bigbadbarry · 04/07/2024 20:27

Very, and I wish the media would
stop talking about it like it’s a done deal

YoYoBiscuits · 04/07/2024 20:30

I'm really nervous. I fully had the rug-from-under-feet wasn't expecting it to previous recent democratic results (in UK and elsewhere) and I just can't trust that its going to be OK. I'm so nervous about reform. But I'm also nervous about how curtailed the Labour manifesto was and the chances of real change needing more money. So I'm overall not feeling that celebratory...maybe daring for a glimmer of hope....eeekkk come on!!

Jutemat · 04/07/2024 20:31

It is a done deal

Stowickthevast · 04/07/2024 20:31

I hadn't seen turnout figures.

Very nervous. I'm terrified of shy Tories.

I keep remembering 2015 where we thought Labour may squeak in, or at least another hung parliament, and instead we got a Tory majority and bloody Brexit.

I remember being in the pub when the exit poll came out and feeling like I'd been punched!

Owlcat42 · 04/07/2024 20:31

Definitely nervous, both about a shock Tory win and Reform doing well.

I also wish the media had stopped talking about it like it's a foregone conclusion. People may think they don't need to bother voting.

LizzieSiddal · 04/07/2024 20:35

I had a real, actual nightmare last night and dreamt there was a hung parliament and the Tory’s and Reform formed a coalition.Shock
I woke up sweating and my heart going like the clappers! So I’ve been very nervous all day.

CatamaranViper · 04/07/2024 20:36

I'm a jinx and whoever I vote/root for never wins. With this in mind I feel like I should have voted Tory 😬

Kovus · 04/07/2024 20:41

Anyone concerned that Labour might not get in may wish to lay a bet in the next couple of hours to hedge themselves.

The pie chart shows where the money is.

This actually does make me feel better thank you!
