Based London and apparently it's starting to be a bit rampant here. Thought it was food poisoning but now got cold symptoms and shivery. Massive headache when first started 3 days ago.
Going to dash to chemist shortly 🤞

I've had it recently - it took about 3 weeks off work to clear - not that that means anything for you, everyone is different

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 03/07/2024 15:46

London too, I tested on Sunday because I was far tireder than I should be & it came up positive in seconds. I’ve had fatigue, aches, temperature & I’m just getting the cough. Good luck.

BehemothWatermelon · 03/07/2024 15:48

Yes my partner and I have it, we tested because I'm compromise and my doctors have to know for treatment. it was a cold for 2 days and is now pure exhaustion.

It is, we have it on the wards at work.
I had it three weeks ago and I think my dd has it now

wavingfuriously · 03/07/2024 15:50

I'm just getting over it, I've never been so ill in my life. I'm still not feeling 100% after two weeks.

EasterlyDirections · 03/07/2024 16:01

My DH has it (tested positive on Mon). He's got severe cold symptoms. Hoping the rest of us don't get it but we were all in the car together a lot at the weekend.

wavingfuriously · 03/07/2024 16:22

Yep..two strong lines ..positive..thought I'd escaped never mind

I’ve been ill since the 13th June. Tested on the 15th because it was such a weird lot of symptoms and positive. Never been so ill before. I’m still positive today and feeling crap. My two kids have it as well.

Polkadottablecloth · 03/07/2024 16:35

Yes, I’ve had it, tested with leftover tests (luckily still in date). The last two weeks I’ve been wiped out, as bad as when I had it pre vaccine. Still dizzy if I’m upright for too long but everything else now improving.

@Dressinggowntime sorry you've had it so long

Was on the tube on tuesday last week - reckon I got it then. Started 3 days ago with diarrhoea, shivers, cold extremities, sneezing - then got swollen abdomen (and hands -wtf!) Thought it was a weird tummy bug. Now I ache all over, couldn't even brush my hair today cos it hurt, no appetite and feel knackered. Sleeping for England. 🤕

On the plus side I've lost 3lbs - every cloud and all that.

bryceQ · 03/07/2024 16:50

London and me and husband had it really bad recently. Actually the worst we've had it. But better after about 8 days

Themodeltho · 03/07/2024 16:51

I think I might. Have temperature. Feeling tired and achy.

DisforDarkChocolate · 03/07/2024 16:52

It's rampant where I live. My husband caught it at work and he's unwell for weeks now.

Ineedwinenow · 03/07/2024 17:08

Both my husband and I had it last week, we started a day apart, my mum has cancer and her immune system is compromised so had to test and it came back positive, we were both really poorly with it and we are still not 100% a week/8 days later, this variant has affected our heads more than chest unlike last time, it felt like our heads are going to explode (maybe a slight over exaggeration 😆) and we were absolutely knackered and struggled getting out to bed

It’s the head I’m finding hardest to cope with. I’ve never had a headache like it. I feel like someone is trying to crush my forehead into my eye. I haven’t really had a cough

GalileoHumpkins · 03/07/2024 17:42

The headache was the worst, it made me throw up a few times. I didn't want to lift my head off the pillow because of the pain and dizziness.

BeaRF75 · 03/07/2024 17:44

Possibly. Certainly got a cold. But absolutely no point in testing. I can't believe people are still bothering - makes no difference to anything, and I am just carrying on as normal.

Because ‘some’ people still care about others and dont want to spread this nasty bug around !
It maybe ‘just a cold’ for you, but for many it can be very serious and still kill them

dreamingofsun · 03/07/2024 17:51

caught it last week off person who also got it from london. only had a mild form a coupe of months ago; this one is the worst. Headcold, shivers, aches, including my hands. Just getting better after a week. I've lost 2 weeks of my life now to covid during the last 2 months. goodness knows what this is doing to productivity. thankfully i didnt get the cough my relative had with it.

It’s beneficial for people who have compromised immune systems to know they have it as in some cases they can be prescribed anti virals. The pharmacy gives out free tests to people in that situation when they have the booster jabs.

Good for you that you can carry on as normal. Not everyone can.

dreamingofsun · 03/07/2024 17:52

you wouldnt carry on as normal if you had it like we have in our house. the previous couple of times were a breeze compared to this

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 03/07/2024 17:59

I’ve got tests because I normally take one before visiting some of my elderly relatives.

I went down to the bin shed this morning & that’s the furthest I’ve felt capable of going all week, although listening to some of the people on this thread I think I’m getting off lightly.

Has anyone else had peeling skin on their palms? I googled & apparently that’s one of the new symptoms.
