Based London and apparently it's starting to be a bit rampant here. Thought it was food poisoning but now got cold symptoms and shivery. Massive headache when first started 3 days ago.
Going to dash to chemist shortly 🤞

@gleefulstar the headache is awful. Probably the worst thing about it I think

Spent most of the night coughing and a temp, prob 4 hrs sleep max - still bloody -ve!
I look like death warmed up.
Need a hot shower, paracetamol and extra caffeine to get my starter motor going this morning.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 07/07/2024 10:58

I tested negative this morning, a week after I originally tested positive.

Hope everyone else feels better soon.

Fordian · 07/07/2024 11:28

Can you get tests at the Asda pharmacy? And are they open on Sundays?

I'm pretty sure I have it, started feeling really achy and headachey yesterday afternoon. Then when I got home, really shivery, I couldn't talk coherently! I have odd stabby chest pains and an uncomfortable abdomen. But the headache is the pits.

I had some in-date tests but the test fluid has dried up. I sort of need to know as I work in a hospital, so DH is going to track some down.

Somerandomgirl · 07/07/2024 15:37

Havent tested as dont wanna spend a 10 on a test... makes no difference anyway...
Almost 2 weeks now.. body aches including all teeth, horrible headache, stomach feels like its upset but isnt, tired, nausea... when will it get better?..... cant do with it anymore 😣 on top ive got chronic pain... so just awful

Anyone else found their appetite destroyed?
I usually love food, but I can't eat at all

Almost better & should be able to go back to WFH on Monday.

Hope everyone else starts recovering soon.

@GlomOfNit, did you get home?

Yes, thanks. 🙂We masked up and did our best to distance. The plane was only two thirds full and nobody was next to or in front of us, which was handy I suppose. We did what we had to.

Now on day 6 and feeling a fair bit better. We've been staying in bed for the most part and trying to isolate from DH and DS2.

Sluj · 08/07/2024 10:33

Just joining in, mine came on suddenly on Friday night with a sore throat, by Saturday morning it was full on. I took two expired tests and both were strongly positive. I have bought some new ones from Amazon but doesn't seem much point in using them, I'll save them for DH. I am having all the usual symptoms but particularly stuffed up sinuses with a runny nose at the same time, plus toothache plus an excess of saliva. This is day 3 now so I hope it will start tailing off a bit.

Sadly not! I'm quite hungry now, on day 6, and my taste isn't entirely gone. Bugger - I thought at least I might come out of this a couple of pounds lighter! 😂

Curiossir · 08/07/2024 11:02

Got all the symptoms but had a negative lateral flow test.

Makes me wonder what the point of all the vaccines were if they clearly do nothing to prevent it (pls don't say the obligatory 'but it might have been so much worse if I hadn't been vaccinated' )🤯🙄 let's be honest, the vaccines have done absolutely nothing.

Edited

They were never f supposed to stop the virus just the severity
I assume they most have done something we don't have daily updates of how many people are dying from it etc nor are we in lockdown.

Fordian · 08/07/2024 11:42

Yes, I 🙄 at the 'I got the vaccine but I still got Covid' brigade. As was said at the time, 'Suddenly everyone's a virologist'.

Well, luckily for me, given others' experiences, this bout (I'm 💯 sure it's Covid) acted just the same as the last, 2 years ago; 36 hours of feeling really unwell, now on the mend.

However, it has set off a recurring area of cellulitis in my ankle. This will be about the 4th time. It's small at the moment but it will grow, I'll have a battle with the GP via photos, then they'll give me antibiotics.

wavingfuriously · 08/07/2024 13:45

my eighth day and still positive 😌 feel so tired want to sleep all time, the runs aswell...what a life!

I have it according to an old test I took last week. Headache still comes and goes, as does sore throat and I am still snotty, tired, dizzy from time to time.

Pretty sure I have given it to DH and the kids but the children shook it off quickly and DH refuses to be ill.

I took 3 days off last week and slept, and have been wfh since. I do have to go in on Wednesday though, and won't be testing again.

Somerandomgirl · 09/07/2024 10:31

Tested now finally...12 days in and faint positive..daughter positive.... uuuughhhh!!!

Yes me. I can't eat anything.

This is the worst I've ever been with Covid, 4th time.

I'm so cold! No appetite at all, bunged up and a really horrible cough.

I feel shocking.

Same. DD tested positive though and I'm way worse than her.

I am well aware the vaccines do not stop you getting Covid
I am saying this bout of it was worse than the other 2, I did not experience milder symptoms

I would happily get the vaccine again, I do not have any differing opinion on the purpose

macandcheeseforthewine · 10/07/2024 11:28

Thanks to this thread, I did a covid test yesterday (having ordered them on amazon as had none left) and it's come back positive.

I don't have a cough at all, which is why I didn't really consider it. Just thought I had a bad cold/flu, as been feeling absolutely lousy and living in pyjamas since Saturday.

My first symptom was feeling sick, but I was on a plane at the time and we were circling in a queue to land, so put it down to that as I normally feel a bit sick when that happens. The queasiness has continued though, comes and goes in waves.

Sluj · 10/07/2024 13:20

I haven't really had much of a cough either, just a bit yesterday. I'm also absolutely starving which seems to be against the norm too. The tests were definitely positive though.

Chatbotsarerubbish · 10/07/2024 16:58

Day 6, feeling a bit brighter, have managed to WFH since having it, albeit my focus isn't 100%! My sense of taste and smell disappeared yesterday which is really horrible. I'm a very sniffy person, so to not be able to smell is not nice!

Experience so far - with this being my 1st round of Covid, and I'm 52/reasonably good health and active:
Day 1: shivers, headache, dizziness
Day 2 - 4: tired, very blocked up and stingy nose - OMG my nostrils! Sneezing lots.
Day 5: Smell and taste goes, feeling bunged up but better
Day 6: Even less bunged up, smell/taste not back. Testing positive but line fading.

Somerandomgirl · 10/07/2024 19:39

Did u all of a sudden test negative after positive? I mean i tested quite late after symptoms .. have never tested positive before in all the years so no expirience what to expect with the tests lol

wavingfuriously · 12/07/2024 12:22

Still testing positive on day 12 - albeit very faint result...unsure whether still infectious..🤔 this thing sucks...post viral fatigue pretty strong
