Based London and apparently it's starting to be a bit rampant here. Thought it was food poisoning but now got cold symptoms and shivery. Massive headache when first started 3 days ago.
Going to dash to chemist shortly 🤞

Just to say I'm convinced I've got COVID (similar rotten symptoms as the last 3 bouts of it where I've tested +ve). Ordered a second lot of test kits via Amazon and still testing negative after 4 days of feeling like 🩲.

Those that can, please try to avoid or limit contact with others. Many of the symptoms on here, along with some more serious ones, I've had for over two years - came on a couple of weeks after a mild dose. No pre-existing conditions, but have now had to stop work completely and can operate at about 10% of previous capacity for the limited time I'm out of bed. I can't even do a play date for the kids, let alone a day out with them.

Ooh that's awful for you, so sorry, what do the docs say?

Yes me. Two weeks now and only just starting up recover but still have sore throat, hacking cough and fatigue. Was off work at the start for three days as and had no voice.
Loads of people have got it. But it’s just like catching a cold now do people are just used to it.

What will you do if not allowed on the plane?

If that did happen we'd be screwed, obviously. But testing is no longer a thing for air travel, for wrong or for right. We'll be double masked and I'm walking wounded, not laid out.

GlomOfNit · 03/07/2024 21:43

I definitely have something but have tested negative today. I'm abroad, somewhere very hot and just for a few days, and due to travel home again in 2 days. (Please don't tell me not to travel, I have absolutely no alternative for various reasons. I will mask up.) Started feeling a bit off yesterday but we're walking lots and like I say, it's hot. But this isn't heat stroke - runny nose, phlegm, cough, raspy voice, feel so tired, achey shoulders... DS is with me and has whatever it is too, and also tested negative today. So fed up. Somehow, I have to get us packed up, back to airport and home on Friday!

How long after onset of feeling shite did people test positive?

You likely have an answer as I'm still reading but I did my first test two days after symptoms and it lit up like Blackpool illuminations.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 04/07/2024 17:42

Four days after testing positive & most of my symptoms have gone but I’ve slept nearly all day. Hopefully that’s the beginning of the end.

I had the symptoms last fortnight but tested negative. Sister just tested positive - but a really faint line, wonder if new varieties show up as easily on these old home test kits?

My line got darker on old out of date test over Few days.

The two tests pic - one is out of date, one is in date.

@wavingfuriously, well you go referred to a long covid clinic...there are no approved treatments. So, that's now liver, POTS, memory loss, extreme fatigue, appendix, teeth, hearing loss, nasal pain, nausea, headaches, a metabolism that does what it wants, random inflammation and so on. So far treatment has been trying some antihistamines and told to increase salt intake. There are obviously others far worse. I can manage a v v short walk some days, others can't get out of their beds and in far more pain. It's kids with long covid that I feel most sorry for, giving up their sports and hobbies and saving all their energy for an hour or two a week or fortnight at school if they can.

I don't think people realise that 90% of people with long covid were mild or asymptomatic to begin with - at least I didn't know anyway! I didn't know it wasn't just a continuation of original symptoms either - I thought I was better. I was unlucky, I got it from my first infection - others have been fine and then get it on their third or fourth, it's so random.

CormorantStrikesBack · 04/07/2024 19:08

I definitely have it, symptoms started last Saturday after catching a train to Waterloo on the Weds, train was packed. Fatigue, temp, sore throat, cough, , painful burning nose sensation

bittertwisted · 04/07/2024 19:08

I have it
Only tested because was meant to see my vulnerable dad tomorrow
Absolutely immediate really dark positive lines

Knew I had it, same symptoms as last time, I feel rubbish. Banging head, weird taste in mouth, exhausted, hacking cough, really stingy skin.

My DS have tested negative, youngest has gold d of e Monday so I've sent him to his dads so he doesn't get it

Feeling very sorry for myself

BeaRF75 · 03/07/2024 17:44

Possibly. Certainly got a cold. But absolutely no point in testing. I can't believe people are still bothering - makes no difference to anything, and I am just carrying on as normal.

Yes I tested because dh and dd are both immunocompromised so it’s a heads up that if they start feeling slightly ill they need antivirals. Oh and dh won’t share a bed with me while I have it so he wanted to know

Whatdoido123456 · 04/07/2024 19:13

I had it, lots and lots had/ have it at the moment. Some with gastro issues, mine was awful cough and sore throat that wouldn’t shift for days and days.

@wavingfuriously I'm in a foul mood and lots of crying

Had a really fun weekend planned, and wanted to get loads of jobs done

I know there are no restrictions, but I couldn't do anything anyway, wiped out

Hope you are feeling better soon x

hermionelodge · 04/07/2024 19:38

I've been ill for 12 days now. I haven't tested, but started off with sore throat then chesty cough, that lasted a week. Then I had 3 days of blocked sinuses. Then yesterday nausea, fever, shivers, diarrhea, tight chest, sweats and light headedness. I'm 7 months pregnant and just so done with this now. I've just been sleeping on and off constantly.

wavingfuriously · 04/07/2024 20:03

How's everyone getting on? Been five days for me and just gone back to bed plus can't taste or smell

OP posts:
WoozieWoo · 05/07/2024 18:00

Me. Started with a headache on Tue, felt worse Wed with sore throat, sore ears, sinus pressure, sore throat, throwing up Thursday, and today I've lost my sense of smell.

WoozieWoo · 05/07/2024 18:00

Just going upstairs is exhausting

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 05/07/2024 18:03

Almost better & should be able to go back to WFH on Monday.

Hope everyone else starts recovering soon.

@GlomOfNit, did you get home?

xxFairyNuffxx · 05/07/2024 18:04

I've had it in the past week. Finally got a negative test on Wednesday.

MissyB1 · 05/07/2024 18:07

Pretty sure dh and i both have it. He works in the hospital and i think he's brought it home. We both have horribly sore throats, headaches, shivery and feel totally exhausted. I feel like I've been run over by a truck!

notanothernamechangemother · 05/07/2024 18:09

I've got it as well. On day 3 now after a positive test. I am still soldiering on looking after DC, even though I'd like to go to bed and rest! I've lost taste and smell which is frustrating. Hope it comes back soon 🤞 🤞 hope everyone feels better soon.

GalileoHumpkins · 05/07/2024 18:35

I'm almost over it, still have blocked ears and sinuses and my mouth is sore. Compared to this time last week I feel fantastic!
