Based London and apparently it's starting to be a bit rampant here. Thought it was food poisoning but now got cold symptoms and shivery. Massive headache when first started 3 days ago.
Going to dash to chemist shortly 🤞

Yep..two strong lines ..positive..thought I'd escaped never mind

Oh no!! I haven't had it yet but I'm now shivery, then sweating & a massive headache.. I'll have to get a test AND of course it' has to be when when it's school holidays 🙄Hope you feel better soon

TruthThatsHardAsSteel · 05/07/2024 19:08

Day 8 of symptoms. Started with sore throat, progressively worse, lost my voice a few days. Bit of a cough, not too bad. Exhaustion squared and absolutely blinding headaches - both eyes mostly, then travels down my face. Temperature here and there but can't bear any heat (and usually I use a heat mat for back pain every day). Appetite is low, living on soup or beans on toast. Heaps of water.

Rubydooby45 · 05/07/2024 19:18

I didn't test as don't see the point, other than to just tell everyone I have Covid, like a weird badge of honour. I'm pretty sure it was though. 3-4 days with a heavy cold, aches then the cough and fatigue. It's almost 3 weeks now and I still have the cough and fatigue. I just stayed home and away from others whilst it was at its worst and away from my elderly Mum for a while. Not much else to do, I couldn't take 3 weeks off work 😂

Makes me wonder what the point of all the vaccines were if they clearly do nothing to prevent it (pls don't say the obligatory 'but it might have been so much worse if I hadn't been vaccinated' )🤯🙄 let's be honest, the vaccines have done absolutely nothing.

Edited

I will be honest
I was very pro-vaccine and had the 3

This is my worst bought of Covid out of the 3 I have had

Pretty sure dh and i both have it. He works in the hospital and i think he's brought it home. We both have horribly sore throats, headaches, shivery and feel totally exhausted. I feel like I've been run over by a truck!

Yes sounds familiar

Covid virus may have evolved to be nastier.
First time for me and surprised how nasty it is

Stuff in here and under the clicky "rebound symptoms" - trading positive does mean you're still infectious. The darker the line the more viral load and more infectious you are. Plus the potential return of symptoms, leading to testing positive again (seems uncertain if that's then reinfectious again). I've struggled to find good info recently online.

We've had three weeks of it - one family member after the other. Probably would class it as a level below flu symptoms. I've had covid once before and with no symptoms, but this time the fever took me down for two days. Also received a message from our GP surgery saying they are low on staff / GP's due to the amount off ill with Covid.

Felt better after day 2 but then got floored again with tiredness.

Slugsandsnailsresidehere · 06/07/2024 08:01

Still feeling 💩 - and testing neg! Cancelled my weekend plans so feeling very sorry for myself. Bloody notcovid/covid!

wavingfuriously · 06/07/2024 13:50

Still testing positive 😑 nearly a week after first symptoms, anyone know how long this thing generally lasts? May wear a mask 😷 because bus ride looming.

I was ill just over 3 weeks

bittertwisted · 06/07/2024 13:59

Mine has now morphed in to horrendous tummy upset

Have lost 7 pounds, every cloud Confused

AIstolemylunch · 06/07/2024 14:05

Same here! Terrible crampys and the runs last night. Def seems to have a more abdominal component this time, although I also had the same on one of my many other boyts of covid (on a plane, that was fun). That said I do feel much beyter today overall and dodnt really start to feel ill until last tuesday so maybe its clearing faster now? Or my body is getting used to it ..

I'm the same, woke up feeling all other symptoms gone. Glad I've banished my youngest, this tummy situation would not be fun on a 5 day d of e camping assessment 😂😂

Chatbotsarerubbish · 06/07/2024 16:17

I read this thread on Wednesday, one day after I returned from London and thought bloody hell... I haven't had covid yet (despite flying, travelling and going to theatre etc).

I'd felt a bit iffy on Monday, so could have had it building up then, went to London Tuesday and Wednesday, and then got the shivers yesterday, along with a really horrible sad feeling. Tested and very strong positive! Bit achy, runny nose, coughing occasionally but aware Covid ramps up. Will see how I go but my Covid cherry has been popped!

GodspeedJune · 06/07/2024 16:31

We all had it a couple of weeks ago. Is anyone really struggling with fatigue and brain fog afterwards? I’m in early pregnancy but think it’s covid that’s wiped me out.

notanothernamechangemother · 06/07/2024 18:35

Can anyone confirm that COVID can affect your mood? I've been feeling much more negative and sad with this bout. I haven't been out to save spreading it, but feel this has also been detrimental to how low I feel 😕 I really hope it shifts soon.

woulducouldushouldu · 06/07/2024 19:03

I've had it all week. Really bad last Sunday, gradually feeling better but still knackered (tbh that is my normal state).

I wfh pt on Thursday and Friday and was planning on going back into the office on Monday as I'm bored but still testing positive. Will email HR tomorrow for guidance as I think technically I can go in as it's over 5 days since I first tested positive but there are a couple of pregnant ladies in the office and there could always be someone CEV who I am not aware about (nor do I want to know the specifics).

I still have absolutely no interest in food. 7lbs down and am trying to eat to keep energy up but I'm going through the motions of eating. Can taste but v unusual for me I can't be bothered. At least that's the holiday diet kick started Smile

AIstolemylunch · 06/07/2024 19:09

Definitely ive had it 5 times now and each time it turns up after a week when I've been feeling uncharacteristically despondent.

gleefulstar · 06/07/2024 19:53

My DD and I have just tested positive. She just thought she had a cold but I've had a runny bum and really really shivery - but by far the worst was the headache I had yesterday. Had to go back to bed with it.

MferMonsterSearchingForRedemption · 06/07/2024 20:05

This strain is really awful.

My teeth still ache, but less than they did. I do feel better in myself, but I'm wondering if I am getting a sinus infection. I am so sick of feeling shitty.

I hope everyone feels better soon.

wavingfuriously · 06/07/2024 21:28

I'm feeling awful this evening and miserable bad tempered to boot... white ugly snarly face in the mirror, rather be dead

user18423052 · 06/07/2024 21:29

Still testing negative here, the aches have gone but I'm still tired and have a slightly sore throat and a weird headache that comes and goes. Upset stomach as well. Don't know whether to go in to work tomorrow or not.

Walkden · 06/07/2024 21:58

It's rife at my school. We have 10 to 15 staff off including many in same department. Only half of tested but are positive and others off have largely the same symptoms.

Quite a few kids off in most classes.
