Is Reform as bad as the BNP?

Off the back of another thread, how does Reform compare to the BNP? I loathe Farage and haven’t taken much notice of his manifesto (contract!) as I don’t want his nonsense in my head, but DM keeps telling me what’s ‘good’ about him. She has previous form for voting UKIP and thinking Johnson was much maligned and a generally nice chap. She reads the Heil every day, so I generally let discussions about politics go over my head otherwise I’d lose my cool.

Shocked they got found out.

Have we mentioned the candidate from yesterday that said he would slaughter migrants and is one of the 41 candidates that is ‘friends’ with Gary Raikes the fascist leader.

Or the one from today who was a BNP member.

Yup. Raymond Saint is the other one.

Yup. Raymond Saint is the other one.

Lilley said he would 'slaughter' migrants arriving on small boats and have their families 'taken out'. So that's nice.

RafaistheKingofClay · 27/06/2024 22:39

He did. He also follows fascists on FB and I think might be involved with another fascist group.

Raymond Saint was a member of the BNP. Which appears to have been too obvious so unlike Lilley, reform have stopped supporting him.

It almost makes you look back fondly on the UKIP days of Godfrey Bloom calling women sluts and referring to Bongo-bongo land.

Or whoever it was that blamed all the flooding on gay marriage.

Bloom said women didn't clean behind the fridge enough.

David Silvester said same sex marriage caused flooding.

They were certainly more circumspect than this lot.

Churchview · 27/06/2024 23:11

Interesting to see Farage trying to make these comments seem like they were coming from new activists he's not vetted when the film shows George Jones, a longtime party activist who organises events for Farage, making homophobic comments, calling the Pride flag “degenerate” and LGBT people “nonces”.

I want to be amused by this but it’s actually quite worrying that in just a few years they feel able to voice such extreme opinions.

It's horrific that they're coming out with such views on a campaign trail. This is also the problem with people voting on a single issue.

Saw Farage on the news proudly, and without a hint of irony, saying that he had 'shut down the BNP'.

newnamethanks · 28/06/2024 20:13

Farage will be interviewed by QT audience, Birmingham, bbc1 at 8.30.

What he means is “has managed to persuade them to vote for him”.

I’m not sure I can bear to watch this. I might just read the reports. I hope he’s dissected.

I guess he didn't say that they've all joined Reforn?

Or Reform even - not sure how an N crept in without me noticing 🤦‍♂️

Just like all the BNP members creeping in without Nigel noticing?

Exactly right. I have the excuse that it was after midnight and I wasn't wearing my reading glasses. He may possibly use the same excuse 😂😂

OneFunBrickNewt · 10/05/2025 10:09

No, Reform are far worse.
More dangerous and supported by the Daily Mail, which at least pretended not to like the BNP- despite supporting fascism in the 30s.
