I'll go first.

You shouldn't have a dog or a baby (or anything else noisy) unless you live in a fully detached property.

OP posts:

And take your antisocial cat with you.

All the OP is doing, is making everyone piss themselves laughing, they are not 'getting anyone going!' 😂

Are we reading the same thread?

Is anyone going to tell @DistinguishedSocialCommentator that "Amborella Distona" is a plant?

DumbassHamsterSitterPerson · 20/06/2024 21:36

If a more successful, married person with a detached house wants my dc they can have them.

😆 I have been telling him to come and tell me what this 'person' is famous for apart from that quote that he made up but he has not come back. Funny that! Grin

I'm a single person in a 3 bed main door flat with garden. I don't really "need" a bigger house. I'm also on track to retire at 50 so doing fine thanks.

Apart from being very lonely and spending your time winding up people on Mumsnet, yeah you're doing great.

@InTheRainOnATrain Fine, if you're all in the same boat noise-terrorising one another. But I'm quiet as anything (and so is everyone else in this block - until recently it was mostly old people who'd lived here since the 50s)

I'm almost tempted to have a baby and a dog myself just to spite those cunts downstairs - I'm 40, I could probably just about manage it. I've certainly taken up listening to loud music and putting the speakers directly on my (hard wood) floors. Probably makes the baby cry more but at least I can't hear it. Plus banging nails into a random bit of wood I'm keeping on said floor specially for the purpose. Hopefully they will get the message and move on to a proper house.

I normally like animals but I have fantasies about kidnapping that one, taking out its microchip and dumping it hundreds of miles away.

What horrible things to say. I'm sure you think you sound very funny or clever but you sound just awful.

Then you would LOVE my thread from a while back explaining why I would save my cat's life over that of a stranger's child.

Ahh I see what you did here.

Telling people to advance search you didn't cause the reaction you'd hoped for, so you've had to spell it out with this post.

You might have to tap the fish tank a bit harder OP.

ilovesooty · 21/06/2024 11:12

I'd rather live next to hordes of dogs and babies than someone who routinely bangs nails into wood to annoy the neighbours who are living perfectly normal lives.

I didn't really set up a scenario, it was just a straight choice.

But yeah, you could get interesting debates with carefully chosen scenarios, like in the trolley problem - difference between passive and active situations.

  1. my cat and your child are drowning, you can only reach one, which one do you save?
  2. my cat is about to be shot, can I grab your child to use as a shield?

🤣
