I'll go first.

You shouldn't have a dog or a baby (or anything else noisy) unless you live in a fully detached property.

You are clearly very sad, very lonely and very desperate for attention OP.

Agreed. It's literally seeping through all of OP's responses. It's quite sad really

Dogs and babies are not the same as each other. One is a human being like all of us and the other is an animal and I agree on the dog part.

Sperm counts are declining due to plastics so you may get your wish.

No individual human (of any age) is important no.

The human race itself? Also of no importance to the universe actually. And I think a negative thing rather than a positive.

If I could press a button and not exist/have never been born then I would do it 100%. I'm quite clumsy though so I have never proceeded to unalive myself as doubtless I'd misjudge it and end up propped in a chair with a feeding tube. I'm watching with interest the law changes in other parts of the world though re assisted dying.

Oh dear. That's very sad. I'm sorry you feel that way. There are people that can help

CatamaranViper · 20/06/2024 20:06

So I found out I was pregnant when I was 13 weeks along. I was living with my BF in a flat, on the pill, had been for around 10ish years by that point.
Should I have been forced to abort because we lived in a flat? Or had my baby removed from me?

violetposie · 20/06/2024 20:07

If you are sensitive to the noises of others, perhaps it is you that should live in a detached home...

Strictlymad · 20/06/2024 20:08

Needmorelego · 20/06/2024 19:19

I prefer the sound of children and the odd dog woof than adults and their tv/music/car reving/motorbikes/drunken arguments/diy......

This!

Not sure the noise is actually the real problem.

NotADailyMailJournalist · 20/06/2024 20:11

@CatamaranViper never rely on just the pill. If you REALLY don't want to get pregnant, you won't. Always double up.

Oh not another one of these! Confused

As a pp said, they never end well, and it just becomes a thread where people spout vile and offensive views. All in the name of 'unpopular opinions!' Hmm

NotADailyMailJournalist · 20/06/2024 20:13

@ApothecaryRose people say "reach out for help". That's shite because 1) people only say that so they don't feel guilty if you unalive. They don't actually WANT to hear it. 2) Some things aren't fixable by "talking".

I think most folk, if of at least moderate intelligence, if they look deep into their heart, agree that life is mostly shite and futile. That's why they are so reliant on alcohol and doom-scrolling. Trying to silence the wee voice. And that's why they have babies, to try and bring purpose to their own life.

DinaofCloud9 · 20/06/2024 20:14

Why are you saying unalive?

RedYellowPinkGreenPurpleOrangeBlue · 20/06/2024 20:15

WTF is unalive?! 😆

meetmeatsunset · 20/06/2024 20:16

It's what young people on TikTok say because the word suicide gets banned. Not heard anyone under about 20 ever say it...

Penfeatherington · 20/06/2024 20:17

If you can't handle living near normal families with dogs and children you should buy a detached house.

RedYellowPinkGreenPurpleOrangeBlue · 20/06/2024 20:17

NightPuffins · 20/06/2024 19:27

"You shouldn't have a dog or a baby (or anything else noisy) unless you live in a fully detached property."

So, basically, what you're advocating is social cleansing. Only people wealthy enough to afford a detached property can procreate.
And as those wealthy people procreate, the poor, which in the majority includes most ethnically diverse, disabled, etc, will gradually be cleansed out of existence.

Exactly this. ^ Shouldn't have children unless you live in a detached house?!

Just when you think you've seen it all on here!

Doesn't answer the question though OP. Are you saying you're for forced abortion and removing wanted babies from their parents?

RidiculousPrice · 20/06/2024 20:19

Keeping fish in fish tanks. Like at the dentists. Watching the poor fish swim around aimlessly amongst plastic seaweed and plastic divers helmets is so depressing.

One day I’ll release them all a la Finding Nemo.

bigoldnamechange · 20/06/2024 20:20

What a sad existence.

Living in London, most of us live quite happily in terraced houses, or even flats. Some of us even have dogs and children. Newsflash: it's fine!

What a miserable mindset you have.

Youdontevengohere · 20/06/2024 20:21

Were you born in a detached property OP?
I live in a detached house so pass your test (3 kids and a dog!) but I lived in a semi until I was 4 so I really shouldn’t have been born.

ApothecaryRose · 20/06/2024 20:21

@NotADailyMailJournalist

You sound very depressed and suicidal. Do you have friends or family? I'm guessing something awful happened to you in the past. It's not normal to feel the way you do.

No, I'm in favour of people not being selfish arseholes in the first place and not inflicting their mistakes or thoughtlessness on other people. Especially when they are allegedly a grown up and not some feckless teenager shagging behind the bike sheds.

Well I was born in a hospital obvs but yes. My parents only had a wee 2 up 2 down but it was fully detached. They then upgraded in time. Never had dogs, only cats.
