Climate change and the environment, I literally find them the most boring subjects in the world. I'm not a climate change denier, I'll do what I can but I'm just nor interested.

Also board( bored )games . Kill me now.

Bex is that you? 🤔

BitOutOfPractice · 17/06/2024 08:03

It isn’t really @JawJaw as he's an electronic engineer so it either comes up about his work, or I’m moaning that my hair straighteners won’t charge in a double socket at the same time as my phone and off he goes about resistance or some such nonsense. I just laugh and say “yeah, amps and volts” and ignore him!

AngelinaFibres · 17/06/2024 08:11

Cooking from scratch.
Politics.
People who describe themselves as ' mad' 'crazy' 'fun'. You are hiding from some trauma in the past. Admit it and deal with it.
People's dogs. I don't care what fabulously amusing thing your dog did. I do not care.
Bridgerton.
Outdoorsy people. Crack on with your ultra marathons every weekend. I'm popping in here for a cake.
Wild swimming. A woman on the news said " It's okay as long as you don't put your face in the water. If you do you tend to end up with a tummy bug". Um, that's a no then.
Wine bores.
Having visitors to stay.Going to stay with other people.

Israel / Palestine.

Religious fanatics in that part of the world have bern killing each other for centuries. It’s just what they do. Something to do with high unemployment & too much sun, or whatever. And I have been completely bored of hearing about it for decades.

The situation is not our problem to solve. Our strategic interests are not at stake. So we should keep selling arms to both sides, which benefits Britain, but otherwise leave them to it & let them get on with it. After all, a few less religious fanatics in the world can’t be a bad thing, can it?

Wow...just wow. Your ignorance and lack of humanity is just shocking to me.

Fuelledbylatte · 17/06/2024 08:37

How busy you are- don't start a conversation with me in that note- I don't care and to be honest, more fool you. Busy-ness is something you absolutely can do something about but you choose to say yes to everything, so....

Property prices, renovations, making money on houses. Just no. Tell me about your cared for loved home that is a bit of your own identity and story than grey clinical boxes that are immaculate and instagram ready.

Directions. Really really don't care if you know a quicker way to how I got here. I have my music/ audio book and car sweets. I didn't have to face the hell of the M1 at rush hour. I'm here on time. Bore off.

positivewings · 17/06/2024 08:51

Blimey that is twisted

In theory I am just the sort of dull, middle aged woman who should like gardening and listening to Radio 4. I would quite like to be interested in them but I just am not.

I started listening to R4 in lockdown - it being te sort of worthy, educate yourself about the world thing I thought I should do. And it does have some programmes that on the face of it are interesting and informative.

God, the preaching.

Beanieton · 17/06/2024 09:03

JawJaw · 17/06/2024 07:00

@Beanieton it’s extraordinary that you seem to believe that the Middle East and the people who live there can be dismissed because there is so much fighting there. Are you aware that a large proportion of the world believe that EUROPE is where the endless fighting takes place. Far from being peaceful people, the Europeans ( especially the British) are constantly either directly at war or involved in a war some way eg. by supplying weapons. WE are seen as aggressive people. Of course we are not all like that. I am sure you are not. And neither are 90% of people in the Middle East.

@JawJaw what about my post makes you think this? I'm literally flabbergasted at the other poster who I quotes ignorance about the issue. I'm saying it is our problem, we created it!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 17/06/2024 09:06

Rugby (I live in Twickenham the ‘home ‘ of rugby)

Hi neighbour!

Have you ever been to a match? I haven't and I've lived here decades. I go to Waitrose, see the loos out and think 'Bugger, big match today' and stay in the rest of the day.

As for the heading - most of the things on this thread.

CrushingOnRubies · 17/06/2024 09:09

What my colleague's toddler had for food today or did at nursery

Football

Glastonbury

Same here!

Also football and rugby and such like.

Live music.

People decorating their homes and home improvements.

Ragwort · 17/06/2024 09:21

Gardening
Taylor Swift
People moaning about COL crisis whilst spending on luxuries ie Taylor Swift tickets
VAT on school fees and the never ending whinging about 'sacrifices'.
People who moan they can't make friends yet are the most unfriendly, self centred people you are ever likely to meet.

Gone off topic now !

frozendaisy · 17/06/2024 09:27

What I should be interested in but are not, is that the question or is it a list of things you just don't like?

For me, local issues, like house building, we are not going to retire where we are so honestly I don't care what happens here. Never say never I guess, and I assume I should take an interest but I just don't care.

RosyappleA · 17/06/2024 10:54

The hundreds of messages on my child’s whatsapp class group. Donating we need this and that. Go away.

Cattenberg · 17/06/2024 11:14

CharnwoodFire · 17/06/2024 06:52

American politics, sport or culture - it's all dreadful/boring because it's only about making money

I agree. For me, America is the noisy kid in the class who won’t shut up and I long for the teacher to say, “that’s lovely, America, but now it’s time to hear from somebody else.

Bhutan? Tell us about your Gross National Happiness. Turkmenistan? Tell us about your continuously burning gas crater (AKA the Gates of Hell) and natural underground spa. São Tomé and Príncipe? I don’t think we’ve heard from you at all! Do tell us about your carnivals and beautiful Caribbean-style beaches.”

Crikeyalmighty · 17/06/2024 11:20

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain do you live in Bath?? It drives me nuts on rugby days- also know I won't get a phone signal in town!!

Badbadbunny · 17/06/2024 11:21

Other people. Whether they're "celebritities", politicians, social media influencers, neighbours, work colleagues, sports stars, pop stars, even distant family. Just can't muster any interest nor enthusiasm at all. The only people I have any remote interest in are my immediate family/household.

I remember back in my teens and friends were buying pop magazines and got so excited reading about their favourite pop stars, their lives, where they went on holiday, what they were wearing, etc. I just didn't give a toss back then and I don't give a toss today.

Obviously, I liked/like listening to music, watching films/tv, watching some sports, and am pretty interested in politics, but I have no interest at all in the personalities involved, I'm only interested in them doing their job!

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 17/06/2024 11:24

The election - I used to work in politics, was a political activist but its all too disappointing to be bothered with now.

Climate change and the environment - yes I know its important but its also boring and l like travelling by plane.

Celebrity stuff - yawn, yawn, yawn

HereComesYourMam · 17/06/2024 11:26

Gardening
Glastonbury
Documentaries
How all the techy stuff in our house works
Other people's ailments

Cattenberg · 17/06/2024 11:29

I am not interested in cars. My friend is delighted with his “new” car and I’m pleased for him. I’m glad to hear that he got a bargain as it belonged to the garage owner’s mum and the engine is in excellent shape, even though the bodywork has a few scrapes due to the aforementioned mum’s failing eyesight.

But the truth is, I have nothing to say about the car, other than it’s a lovely shade of blue. Sorry.

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/06/2024 11:33

Well I probably should be interested in climate change but I’m just not. A country the size of Scotland can make FA of a difference if the big ones don’t change their ways. I’m not giving up my car, or going by plane either.
Ditto the news, and to some extent politics too. I just feel the world has gone to shit just now and the news is just not good for my MH. I used to be very into politics, but it just all seems so fuckin pointless at the moment. Scotland will get a Westminster Labour government, ie bunch of Tories by another name, whether we vote for one or not.

ElsaMars · 17/06/2024 11:44

Debates. Massive waste of breath that could be better spent elsewhere. E.g on TV or Radio: Sharon thinks this, Bob adds to that point, Mary disagrees and on and on. Who the hell cares, gives me the rage.

notmoredirtywashing · 17/06/2024 11:52

Space and dinosaurs.

I've got 3 sons and had to suffer the boring conversations about them. It just doesn't penetrate my brain.

They're all adults too!

ElsaMars · 17/06/2024 11:55

Also, I don't get why people want to have plans and do things with friends. If I have time to myself, I lay on my bed and binge watch stuff and I'm perfectly content. If I have made plans for some reason, I dread it and wish I could cancel.
