Anyone else loving the weather?

I'm so enjoying the cooler than normal weather. I can spend more time in the garden without getting hot and sweaty. Love sleeping in a cool bed. Can go for nice long walks. Less noise from neighbours. Win. Win.

RampantIvy · 14/06/2024 19:06

Your cat is adorable @buffyslayer 😍

ALongHardWinter · 14/06/2024 18:07

Oh,give it another couple of weeks and I guarantee it will be in the upper 20s.

@ALongHardWinter

Do you have a time machine, because unless you've been to the future and have proof of temperatures in the upper 20s I think you're being wildly optimistic. ⛄⛈️

midlifeattheoasis · 14/06/2024 19:40

NO

Crikeyalmighty · 14/06/2024 19:58

@RampantIvy I'm really feeling it back here in Bath- never seems to stop raining and about 16 degrees and windy - it just felt so lovely in mid 20s

LaurieFairyCake · 14/06/2024 20:20

Yes, the cool weather is great for dog walking

I'm finding the wind annoying though

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 14/06/2024 20:40

I hate this weather, it just can't make its fucking mind up!

The only saving grace is its been windy so the washing is drying outside (when it's not raining).

But I want to wear shorts and lovely summer dresses, I want to sit and read my book outside and actually enjoy my garden.

The worst thing is I have bloody hay-fever, which wouldn't be so bad if it actually felt like summer but it feels more like autumn or early spring.

MyQuaintDog · 14/06/2024 21:44

It feels like a wet spring.

daisychain01 · 15/06/2024 05:50

I heard on the radio that there is due to be warm weather coming up from the Azores, by the end of June, so I'm holding out hope! 🤞

Whinge · 15/06/2024 07:45

When I went to bed it was raining, and i've woken up to more rain and grey skies.

It's the middle of June, is it too much to ask for some blue skies and a day without rain? Sad

RainyDayLove · 15/06/2024 07:46

MyQuaintDog · 14/06/2024 14:43

It has started raining here again.
So those who like this weather are not actually experiencing the kind of weather we are all complaining about? Rain, damp, windy and cold days.

That's what the weather is like here for us at the moment, and honestly, I am really relishing it. Not just the cold, but the grey and the wind and rain. Selfishly, it's making not just my home, but my job a lot more bearable than when it's bright and warm/hot.

EatCrow · 15/06/2024 07:49

We had torrential rain three times last night! Warmer at 12 degrees (usual is 8-9).

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 15/06/2024 07:52

It’s fucking miserable.

Whinge · 15/06/2024 07:57

I'm curious as to what job is more bearable in heavy rain, wind and grey skies. Confused I appreciate some jobs are more difficult in very hot weather, but surely a dry 20° day with blue skies doesn't make your job harder?

I would have thought the only job unbearable in 20 degree sunshine is working in a greenhouse.

I like to spend most of the day outdoors in nice weather. Do the cold and wet lovers spend this much time out in the cold and wet or do they just not spend much time outside at all?

headstone · 15/06/2024 10:03

I don’t mind it cold and wet in February but when it’s like this the whole year it’s depressing. I want seasons.

I’m going to be completely honest and say people who ‘love the rain’ etc are usually either very very very sensitive types who are allergic to 67 different things and get thrush by walking into Superdrug, or people who live v small lives and feel comforted when others are also forced to do so by the weather

I shall now run for cover

I don't love it, I just don't mind it. And if thw trade-off is an entire summer where it never gets over 20 I'll be quite happy with that. Cool and dry would be preferable to cold and wet but both still preferable to dry and hot.

It's pouring down here with 40mph winds. About to head into town. Mostly I find the idea of walking thorough such weather quite funny rather than anything else.

And I'd still rather have to wear a raincoat than suncream.

It's raining again and I'm watching the roses take a battering from the wind. There were flowers on them now they're all over the garden. I swear my tomatoes are stunted this year as well. No flowers on them at all yet. I can't get out on my bike because it's not fun cycling in the pouring rain.

What an earth is there to like about rain and windy weather in June. We get enough of this, a few months of sunny warm weather isn't that much of a hardship for those who like being 'cosy'.

Not a terrible hardship no, but just not my preference. That's all.

MidnightPatrol · 15/06/2024 12:19

I am really reaching the end of ability to cope with the bad weather tbh.

It’s so so so awful.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/06/2024 12:29

We are now having thunder, lightning, heavy rain and possible flash flooding. My son's football is cancelled due to the risk of getting electrocuted, so we are heading to the trampoline park. Again.

I'm not a hot weather person but 😩

MidnightPatrol · 15/06/2024 12:33

Can’t even go to the bloody playground as it’s too wet and miserable.

MyQuaintDog · 15/06/2024 12:35

Raining here, all morning. Its shit.

the80sweregreat · 15/06/2024 13:01

Thunder and lightning now in Essex and been raining all morning.
