I feel really sad about this.
He came across such a sweet , unassuming man .

Somuch · 09/06/2024 11:09

So sad, he had almost made it to safety. He must have been delirious coming over the top of that hill and seeing the beach and bar below. Just didn’t quite make it. How incredibly tragic.

Good grief.

Very sad but inevitable given the length of time. I just hope all.the "armchair detectives " don't start crawling out criticising the search teams for not doing this or that .
I hope his family are given privacy to grieve in peace

I know being holier than thou is a popular competition on here but this is an on line forum. They’re showing the pixilated body all over mainstream TV so commenting and discussing on here is hardly worth some getting all het up over!

Oh, it's you again. Always in impeccably poor taste.

Makes you wonder if the fence wasn’t there would he have made it to the bar? Poor fella. Rest in peace.

Aquarius1234 · 09/06/2024 11:15

Not sure why they needed to go back to the cafe and re watch the footage and zoom in.
Can't have been far to just go and look there and then. Already on the boat etc

Then start a thread of your own to discuss this away from the subject matter of this poor man and his family, as it is inappropriate on this one.

As you’ve appointed yourself a member of the Thread Police, what would you like posters to post about, exactly, on an online forum on a thread about a celebrity who’s recently died in mysterious circumstances?

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 09/06/2024 11:16

I think it is incredibly sad that he was so close to safety when he succumbed. A few dozen more metres and he would have had access to help, refreshment, the sea to cool off in.

In a way it makes it more tragic than being found in the middle of nowhere. Those of us pointing it out aren't wrong to feel sad about that.

Aquarius1234 · 09/06/2024 11:16

Mayor deciding etc..

So sad for his friends and family, he seemed like a lovely man using his intelligence and empathy to improve people's lives. I hope it was quick.

XjustagirlX · 09/06/2024 11:18

So it does appear that he was heading on a walk towards the marina. He would have approached it from the south entrance though. But he was found at the north side.

this makes me think he couldn’t enter the marina from the south side and he decided to walk round to the other side and then he collapsed.

i wonder if the gate to enter from the south was shut? Or he couldn’t see the gate maybe.

if he could have got down on the south side maybe he would have got help sooner.

He was right be a restaurant/ cafe earlier and apparently didn't go in for a quick rest/ supplies.

@Sunnyandsilly You're clearly getting wound up by this thread so why don't you hide it away now. Let people discuss what they want.

StrawPony · 09/06/2024 11:19

Very sad. Saw his latest fast 800 book when shopping in the supermarket this morning. Although, obviously not the first to highlight the positives of fasting, he really brought it into the main stream. A lot of people found him an inspiration. Its just so sad that his work on fasting started because he didn’t want to have a shortened life like his father did (through poor health), and then he dies before his 70s anyway. RIP Michael.

Please try to think logically, from that distance if ther was people there he’d have been seen or could have shouted. So it could have been late at night or he could have had a he sudden fatal heart attack and irrelevant if where he was the outcome would be no different

Aquarius1234 · 09/06/2024 11:19

I thought he was at the marina on cctv walking along.

Because you can’t get much closer. He explained quite well in his interview that it just wasn’t clear through his zoom lens / view finder (trying to look at those in the glaring sun on a boat would be very hard). It was only when he applied an iPhone zoom to the other image that it was clear that it was indeed a body.

Ok I meant why couldn't the boat take them closer to the beach , then walk to the scene.

Snowdrop80 · 09/06/2024 11:23

I saw on the previous thread that someone had posted this on his wife’s Instagram a couple of days ago. I wonder if it was MM who they saw all along? So terribly sad.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 09/06/2024 11:24

@Sunnyandsilly Please try to think logically.

He set off around 2pm and it doesn't get dark until 8pm. He likely succumbed to the heat. There is no way he got there after dark.

Why are you so bloody rude?

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 09/06/2024 11:25

I have experienced heatstroke. It comes on really suddenly. One minute you're ok and the next you're fainting. I struggled to walk a few metres to get water to cool off. I couldn't have shouted in that state. I could barely stay conscious.

Oh sounds horrible.
What's the main way prevent it when out for the day in the sun?
