Just that really. Will he be found?

Poor man! Hope he's found

Delatron · 07/06/2024 15:56

I think the lighting in the photos is different that’s why the shorts look a different colour. It does sound like he made it to Pedi and tried to get a bus. But then decided to walk as maybe there were no buses for some time.

MattDamon · 07/06/2024 15:56

Passiflora2 · 07/06/2024 15:52

Somehow he changed his shorts as well?

They look the same to me. I'm not going to go all Websleuths and do close up shots, but you can see the beginnings of the pocket and the edge of the black line on the CCTV photos. This matches the original photo.

Somehow he changed his shorts as well?

I think it's more likely that the material just shows up a different colour on the other camera

Words · 07/06/2024 15:57

Well that makes it all the more baffling if he got to Pedi.

Did he set off on a track overland rather than take the uninspiring ( see video) road route back to Symi town, having found no bus was due for hours? ( I can see myself doing exactly this in my younger days.)

But surely every footpath will have been scoured by now...his poor wife.

Maybe it's more hopeful if the rest of the walk was inland? It means he didn't fall in the water. Or was the remaining walk also by the coast?

Manhere2024 · 07/06/2024 15:59

“A police officer confirmed to The Sun that the man in the pictures was "definitely" Dr Mosley, and that the CCTV was captured outside a shop in Pedi.
The officer said: "We know now that he crossed the path, that he made it to the other side and got to Pedi.
"Now we have to look at all the possible paths he could have taken from there."”

Contrasted with the original photo.

Same clothes - different cameras detect colour differently, especially cctv cameras. He’s wearing the same clothes.

User14March · 07/06/2024 16:02

@BusyMummy001 earlier CCTV cafe evidence apparently dismissed due to shorts being diff colour.

Walesnotwhales · 07/06/2024 16:02

With multiple reported sightings of him in Pedi, I’ve been puzzled by why so much focus on the coast path between the beach and Pedi. And the route from Pedi to where I assume he was staying (Ano Symi?) is overland.

Choux · 07/06/2024 16:02

The shorts are more blue/grey than his shirt so could appear grey in cctv. The shorts in the cctv photo are the correct length and possibly also have the vertical black detail on the right leg pocket. Hard to tell from a still though as it could be shadow. Presumably police saw the whole footage including anyone else around at the same time.

This cctv is from Pedi so perhaps he did make it there.

I’m starting to wonder if something very strange or unexpected has happened other than a fall. Not going to speculate but with the new photos, it’s not adding up at all.

What’s not adding up? That photo looks perfectly normal to me, he looks like a man having a stroll and looking in the window of a shop.

So he made it to the town? Curiouser and curiouser.

freakyoldhermit · 07/06/2024 16:04

but his wife looked at the footage and said it was not him🤔

MattDamon · 07/06/2024 16:04

It can't be the same cctv footage his wife viewed. No one would think this was someone else. He even has the umbrella.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 07/06/2024 16:04

The witness in the beachside restaurant said he was carrying a purple umbrella when he left the beach so it has to be him. Far too much of a coincidence to be someone else.

This thread will be full soon.

Words · 07/06/2024 16:05

The umbrella is pretty distinctive and was witnessed at the beach so it must surely be him. One would hope for witnesses but maybe not too many others around in that heat at that time of day.

I think it was cctv of a man with a woman that she said wasn’t him.

The focus now needs to be on the subsequent routes to his accommodation after Pedi. Is one of them coastal/tricky terrain?

Poettree · 07/06/2024 16:07

You can go from Pedi to Symi Town on foot through small inland housing settlements but it's pretty rugged and steep.

If he made it to Pedi then he's presumably not in the sea as you can then only go inland to the main town. My DH has jogged from Pedi to Symi and arrived back sweating. The bus is irregular, every hour or so from memory, and there's a chance someone would have seen him if he'd caught it.

Really strange.

I wonder which footage she was looking at. Surely she’s seen the subsequent footage now. That’s definitely him. So he did make it to Pedi.

Yes and the umbrella is apparently purple, which is obviously showing as a duller colour in that cctv photo.

quizzys · 07/06/2024 16:08

Anyone want to open a follow up thread? This one just about full now.

MonkeyTennis34 · 07/06/2024 16:08

It's not looking hopeful, is it?

Terrible.

Sandy971 · 07/06/2024 16:11

I wonder if he’s known in Greece? He’s very into the Mediterranean Diet. I wonder if someone there has seen him and knows he is probably quite wealthy, therefore kidnapping him

I'm really confused by your description as looking at the map of the island, Ano Symni seems to be on the coast, not inland, and has a port, I think.
