That really doesn't sound like him or any of his programs, which are health-based.

Oh dear, really doesn't sound good. Hoping for the best outcome for him and his family.

How worrying. I did that walk to pedi about 10 years ago and DH and i managed to get partially lost both ways, although it's not far. Hope hes ok

Weird, isn't it?! I heard his name on the news and thought they were going to say he'd died, which would obviously be a shock. Was not expecting them to say he'd gone missing.
Why did he leave his phone with someone else, do we know?

He forgot his phone on the beach where he was with some friends.

Really hope they find him 😔

BBC says now that he had left his phone at the place he was staying and his wife found it.

It’s not that big a place, so wouldn’t take so long to search, so I’m concerned rhey are now just preparing an announcement, I hope it’s all ok.

I have to say my DH is always forgetting his phone and leaving it behind.

It’s worrying that they have clearly retraced his steps and found nothing. I feel for his family, waiting and not knowing must be hell.

there was a mention in the press a concern he may have ‘fallen from height’ which is awful. I find his shows so interesting and make so much sense. I hope he’s found safe and well.

This is awful. I loved his One Thing A Day podcast, always felt like he had the most soothing, friendly voice. Very worrying that he hasn't been found and it's such a small island.

I just heard this on the radio while I was in the car. Then when I got back I looked at Google Maps. The path he was supposedly taking from St Nicholas Beach to Pedi is only 1km long, so it's really difficult to see how he could be lost or if injured that they wouldn't have found him by now. He's always seemed like such a nice man. Really hoping he's found safe and well, but it's really worrying.

Oh gosh this happened to a friend a few years ago (different Greek island but still a small one) and sadly didn’t have a good outcome. Hopefully he will be found.

He's done so much to improve people's health. I hope he's found safe.

Oh this is so sad. His programme on Radio 4 is really good. I was listening to him the other day, talking about how volunteering and helping others is good for your health. He was describing the effect having a family of Ukranian refugees living in his home was having on him. He seems like a very kind man.

I hope he is ok. I’m suspicious about the phone thing - that he’s purposefully gone off. But I really hope that’s not the case and they find him really soon.

I don't get how people are suspicious about his phone, we've just come back from holiday - most days my phone and apple watch were left in the room as had no need for them, we'd go for walks and be out and about without it all day, isn't that just normal holiday behaviour?

I think the fact that he's on holiday could be a reason for the phone being left behind. I have my phone almost attached to me at all times, but this does change on holiday and I'll leave it when I wouldn't at home.

It's all very worrying though...
