I'll go first ...

B&M is over rated

Most of the home decor is tacky
I can get cleaning products at in the supermarket without a separate trip.
It's not super cheap like people say when you really compare the prices

The overuse of ‘devastated’ to describe being disappointed ie ‘DD was absolutely devastated not to get an invite to a party..’. People need to look up the dictionary definition of the word; using it in some contexts is insulting to those who have experienced true devastation ie bereavement (yes I have experienced this and it makes my blood boil hearing ‘devastated’ being bandied about on here.

NecessaryNC24 · 21/05/2024 17:20

Absolutely.

And have apparently learned all they need to know about the history of the Middle East in 6 months from TikTok.

Those of you who let your dog loose to bother and approach other people are moronic and everyone is looking at you thinking you are a tosser. No one is admiring your dog and we do not feel honoured by its proximity.

Realduchymarmalade · 21/05/2024 17:26

It does not take a village to raise a child. Children don’t want a village, they want parents and siblings, grandparents and some cousins are a nice bonus.

Yep. When people say village, they mean free childcare.

No one else cares what you wear on the school run or plane. If you wear a dinosaur suit or a giraffe onesie they might notice... otherwise....

There was a guy dressed as Buzz Lightyear on our flight this week. Everyone noticed him.

Bluesuitredtie · 21/05/2024 17:30

Nude as a clothing colour needs banning. From a distance (with my bad eyesight) I often wonder what on earth is going on 😂

Realduchymarmalade · 21/05/2024 17:34

It was better when a couple simply just fell in love and got married. Rather today’s palaver of several years planning the big day with all the tacky Instagram extras like photo booths, to say nothing of the gruelling ordeal of hen/stag weekend etc

sheroku · 21/05/2024 17:35

I take it you don't eat meat? Drink dairy? Eggs?

I'm well aware of how cruel animal agriculture is. I'm vegetarian and was vegan for a few years before I caved. For me, eating dairy and eggs is a selfish decision, I've never claimed it isn't.

Recycling gifts is not thrifty, most people neither expect nor need a gift. If you really want to give a gift then buy something actually decent like a beautiful plant for the garden, a fruit tree, your favourite ever classic book that you think they might love too, a homemade pie or veg from your garden or anything you truly think they will love! Or just don’t buy a gift, there is no need. Just don’t pass that cheap hand cream, chemical–soup bubble bath or insipid bargain wine on to yet the next person.

NonPlayerCharacter · 21/05/2024 17:47

Recycling gifts is not thrifty

Well it is, but that doesn't mean it isn't also shit 🤣

Idontgiveashitanymore · 21/05/2024 17:48

I think massive bows or headbands on tiny babies look naff .
just stop !

Realduchymarmalade · 21/05/2024 17:49

Vaping makes you look low class in a way even cigarettes never managed

Most of the people supporting Hamas have no idea what they're supporting. Especially women and, as you rightly say, anyone gay. I know they say they are supporting Palestine and not Hamas but I've had several students say to me recently that Hamas are freedom fighters. These are white, middle class kids with all the privileges that go with it.

Edited to remove reference to a different post.

Who are these Hamas supporters you’re talking about? Surely not people opposed to the actions of the Israeli Army and govt?

I hate seeing opposition to war crimes and criminals being conflated with support for other crimes / criminals

Conniebygaslight · 21/05/2024 17:51

Mum’s should be at home with their children until they are at least school age.

NecessaryNC24 · 21/05/2024 17:52

They should also understand how to use apostrophes.

Nelliemellie · 21/05/2024 17:53

Uniqlo may be boring, but they sure do last, years and years still looking like new/acceptable.

Realduchymarmalade · 21/05/2024 17:58

Crèche at the gym is vile – your child does not feel safe with these strangers, put on a Davina McCall dvd or go on a long walk with baby in the carrier or pushchair

igomeow · 21/05/2024 17:58

Adults who go to Disney land without children are strange.

Babies with ear rings and bows look cruel and chavvy.

Grown ups who love Harry Potter or Disney are weird.

Yes! 🙌🏻

All reality TV is crap

SOME is...

BB, love island, MAFS definitely,

Sewing Bee and Bake Off are superb.

MaidOfSteel · 21/05/2024 18:11

Being child-free by choice is not selfish. It is wanting then having children that is selfish.
