I'll go first ...

B&M is over rated

Most of the home decor is tacky
I can get cleaning products at in the supermarket without a separate trip.
It's not super cheap like people say when you really compare the prices

@BedDepartment God doesn't hide Himself away. You can see evidence for Him all around you. And He sent His Son, Jesus. Please read Mark's gospel....(or any other - but I love the punchy style of Mark)

Being we on the topic of religion,

I really think 🤔 the Jeohvoh religion is a cult under the guise of religious spiritual faith religion,

After watching about Rebecca who was ex w.a.g footballers partner who did a documentary i saw Christmas time just gone about her childhood experiences of growing up under the Jeohvoh faith cult religion and how when she was sexually abused by one of the Jeohvoh elders,
or by one of her male members of her family,

the entire church covered up hush hush style,
She decided to expose the religious hypocrisy festering putrid style within this church,
and about former child victims of this church ect,
It was very insightful documentary and really opened my eyes about this church for sure in more ways than one,
It was also remisant susprisly like The American Scientology religion cult in its ways too,

You could see still how much the church had broken damaged her in her 👁 eyes..

I grew up in a devout family in a devout society, and am well-versed in the usual beliefs of Christianity. I could probably recite large chunks of Mark's gospel. I can assure you that no omniscient, omnipotent deity has manifested himself to me.

What I see in Christianity is a bunch of people placating an imaginary, man-made figure generated by a combination of wishful thinking, a desire for a moral code with built-in carrot and stick, and fear of death. Jesus was a charismatic first-century itinerant preacher who met an unfortunate end.

No, you can see science all around you. Let me ask you something- if God loves us and is omnipotent and benevolent, why does he allow innocents to suffer? If he (why is it a man?) cannot prevent the suffering, then he is not omnipotent, or not loving and benevolent.

Snippysocks · 27/05/2024 12:40

@BedDepartment A serious question....In what way would you like or expect God (the creator of all things) to manifest Himself to you?
@AnnieSnap
A Christian is not a person who has solved the problem of suffering but one who has come to love and trust the God who has suffered for them.
Some suffering is man's fault. Some of it seems to just happen and the Bible doesn't give us a complete answer to it. But just because WE don't have a complete answer to the problem of suffering, it doesn't mean that God is not omnipotent or unloving.

You do realise that there is as much evidence for the existence of God, as there is for the existence of the tooth fairy right? I’ll still with science thank you!

To be fair though, ask a child and they'll have hard proof the tooth fairy exists the morning after their tooth fell out!!

Are you absolutely certain that there is absolutely no possibility that, in the enormous universe, there is no God who made it all? That man knows all there is to know?

I doubt it would be a man tat knows all there is to know. Are you absolutely certain that there is absolutely no possibility that you are believing in rubbish?

DarkForces · 27/05/2024 22:58

I don't give a shit what mn think about my fur baby. She goes in places she's allowed and goes off lead in the woods where there's no farm animals close. It's her planet as much as ours

Snippysocks · 27/05/2024 22:59

Yes - I could be wrong. But if I'm wrong, then the worst thing is that I've tried my hardest to follow and love Jesus and death will just snuff me out. But - if what the bible says is true, then because of believing and loving Jesus, I'll spend eternity with Him in heaven. I'll take that promise....

Babies with ear rings and bows look cruel and chavvy.

Grown ups who love Harry Potter or Disney are weird.

Agree, and those stupid headbands lol 😆

ArchaeoSpy · 29/05/2024 07:59

would it be possible and would it help improve society to have sections in society where you have eg like gated communities where you have various law abiding people, then other areas are where those can choose to break the laws ect have their own area. ?

cerisepanther73 · 29/05/2024 10:33

@randomusernam

I was transracially adopted way back in time to very early 80s era in the UK,
Moved from part of the UK to another country of the UK

I feel i was part of social experiment and feel often confused where i where I fit in belong don't know hardly that much of my ethnicity culture of family orgin,

Which is weird and unsettling disorienting at times feel emotional adrift at sea

So therefore i now naturally have very mixed feelings about the idea of transracial adoptions,

and to be straight with you and honest

I don't really agree 🤷 with the idea of it

And i am not racist feeling like that way too either

There feel bit better getting that off my chest

Thanks to mumsnet website for that opportunity too

I really didn't like the way Maddonna white saviour used her status and wealth to get around the African system in regards of child welfare ect
to adopt her rain bow family children idea,

I feel she took advantage of adopted children's poverty status and their families especially the grandmother in that circumstances,
Lack of knowledge how the child welfare care system works
Maddonna gave the impression to adopted children's families that it was temporary fostering arrangement,
Pulled the wool over the eyes,

Not a nice thing 😕 to do,

She acts quite often as if her adopted children are like the must have latest fashion accessory items,

Overseas adoptions, or is it child trafficking under guise ?

cerisepanther73 · 29/05/2024 10:40

@Snippysocks

Where is this extremely elusive god who just passively like a bystander while some people are emotionally feel like they are struggling adrift at sea 🌊 drowning or like they have stumbled into quick sand struggling to get out?

Snippysocks · 29/05/2024 10:58

God isn't elusive. He's right there with us and knows exactly how we feel - in Jesus, He faced rejection, betrayal and pain just like we do. We live in a broken world. And we're part of that brokenness. But if God deals with that brokenness, perhaps we deserve Him to deal with us first....

How would that work? It would obviously be very expensive to live in a gated community. If you were to attach fences and gates around ‘ordinary’ areas, where would the money come from to build and maintain them. Not all poor people commit crime and it’s not only poor people who commit crime.

cerisepanther73 · 29/05/2024 14:49

@randomusernam

People who have large families and depend on the benefit system state benefits heavily shouldn't be allowed to continue do so 🤷 without contributing to our society in some way,
they should be compulsory conditions,
that should be attached to the benefit system too,
they should have to do volunteering work for a charity so many hours per week in some way at least,
to be entiled to be in receipt entiled to a benefit
It could be a charity of their choice, or chosen for them charity for then if they unsure or don't want to do anything,

By doing this it will enhance CV and help to get out of being stuck in the rut and boost cofindence...

You go first to be dealt with since you like the guy so much. I'll remain here, in the real world.

By definition, criminals don't keep the law. So how do you propose to keep them out of the gated communities of nice people? It seems unlikely that just asking them to commit crime in their own backyard and not trouble the rest of us would work, they're not going to say 'Oh, terribly sorry. We will leave you and your property alone. So sorry to have bothered you.' Especially when all the most desirable assets are behind gates. So are you envisaging armed police patrolling the gated area or what? And what would happen when you wanted to leave your gated community, e.g. for work or to visit a friend? You just have to take your life into your hands and hope you don't get murdered? Or is the gated area so large that it encompasses all shops, businesses, schools, universities ... ? In which case it is even harder to police, more attractive to criminals, and becomes even more of a prison. And how would you vet people to ensure they are law-abiding enough to deserve a place within the community?

Devastated999 · 29/05/2024 16:08

Summer (the heat and glare) is shit, it is sweaty, clammy and smelly.

Grey is a shit depressing colour to paint the interior of your house.

You should pass a test including a trial run for having a baby, especially looking after a moody teenager before you can decide to have a baby.

Mirrored furniture is God-awful.

Alcohol is shit.

Going out is shit.

Going on holiday is more stress than it is worth.

Religion is bollox, except as a comfort to the dying.

Basically towns / cities divided into sectors with private security forces with mass cctv facial recog, no masks etc and similar to the security service powers to keep a watch and protect society, everyone has sector passes that allow access to that sector. as thats a basic idea.
