B&M is over rated

Most of the home decor is tacky
I can get cleaning products at in the supermarket without a separate trip.
It's not super cheap like people say when you really compare the prices

Men are less cliquey and judgemental than women in some respects..
I work mainly with women but we also have around 15 guys too. They are far more inclusive on the whole. I have a couple of geeky male colleagues who are somewhat socially awkward. The women take the piss out of them surreptitiously but the guys always involve them in visits to the pub or trips out golfing etc. There’s gentle skitting but it seems good natured and it involves all of them. Otoh some of my female colleagues can make fairly close to the bone cruel comments about women who don’t fit in and don’t make an effort to include them.
Outside work our male neighbour has ‘open house’ in his garden bar aka garage. Happy to invite anyone that lives in our little square. His wife on the other hand is far more selective. Friendly enough but less openly welcoming.

There seems to be a greater tendency for women to pick and choose who is part of the group and who isn't. I suppose that discernment would have been very useful in our prehistoric past, when you had to select your tribe and allies carefully, and is still useful today due to physical vulnerability.

OTOH, it absolutely sucks to be a neurodivergent woman, having trust issues around female acquaintances due to the constant exclusion and snide whispers you faced growing up. Most of my friends are / have been men and that comes with its own fun (not) set of drawbacks.

Same! I love all the component parts, but hate pizza and cheese on toast. It’s very rare to come across a fellow pizza avoider.

The pizzas here are crap, they don't have that proper, authentic pizza taste. Best one I ever had was a simple tuna & red onion pizza, made in a traditional pizza oven in Lanzarote. Simple but oh so tasty.

Even the ones I had in Italy (Lake Garda) weren't great, but we did go to mostly tourist restaurants

Most things in modern life are shit. Too many entitled twats in the world. Some people should be allowed to keep a pet, let alone have kids who they neglect /abuse and let become feral.

Dogs should not be allowed in cafes.

Parents who think their children in government/state school are having anything like a good, happy, wholesome and enriching experience and anything approaching excellence in their education, are staggeringly deluded and naive.

Unpopular opinion, but not one coming from a place of smug privilege – no one has ever been to private school in my family.

Most of the people supporting Hamas have no idea what they're supporting. Especially women and, as you rightly say, anyone gay. I know they say they are supporting Palestine and not Hamas but I've had several students say to me recently that Hamas are freedom fighters. These are white, middle class kids with all the privileges that go with it.
