I'll go first ...

B&M is over rated

Most of the home decor is tacky
I can get cleaning products at in the supermarket without a separate trip.
It's not super cheap like people say when you really compare the prices

Basically towns / cities divided into sectors with private security forces with mass cctv facial recog, no masks etc and similar to the security service powers to keep a watch and protect society, everyone has sector passes that allow access to that sector. as thats a basic idea.

But who would you let in? What are the criteria?

Criminal records

What about the ones that haven't been caught? What about the children of the people with criminal records?

Summer (the heat and glare) is shit, it is sweaty, clammy and smelly.

Grey is a shit depressing colour to paint the interior of your house.

You should pass a test including a trial run for having a baby, especially looking after a moody teenager before you can decide to have a baby.

Mirrored furniture is God-awful.

Alcohol is shit.

Going out is shit.

Going on holiday is more stress than it is worth.

Religion is bollox, except as a comfort to the dying.

I agree with a lot of this, but I like Summer unless it’s very hot and I like going on holiday (but it’s just me and DH).

I think alcohol is a scourge on society and a highly dangerous drug.
I agree religion is bollocks, but it’s worse than that. It causes real harm to many people.
I don’t mind some going out, but I think it’s over-rated.
I agree grey is an awful colour to paint a house.
I think we need Sure Start Centres. They were really helping parents and children in so many ways, but the Tories came in and closed most of them.
I don’t have strong views about mirrored furniture, but I have never wanted any other than bathroom cabinets.

Yes, it was so much better for women to be unpaid servants with no right to their own bank accounts, no political voice, and being badly underpaid for the very hard work most of them did, in fact, do on top of their domestic labour.

👌😂😂😂

Dungarees on mature women make them look like either Hale or Pace.

Hahahahah I love looking like Hale and Pace then

If we want any kind of society to still be here in 100 years time, loads of people need to have kids. So it’s not really selfish. Nor is some people choosing not to have kids selfish. Both are valid choices, with “selfish” being a simplistic take on both.

If I want to have kids, I'll have them! No ones business but mine.

cerisepanther73 · 29/05/2024 19:48

I 🤔 think after the kinds of childhood and teenage years experiences i have had childhood emotional pschological neglect and being brought up in children's homes ect

and gearing other people's experiences of dysfunctional adverse shitty experiences childhoods like mine,

Thankfully i did have some good childhood experinces with my family who adopted

I've come to the conclusion that this idealised family unit western ideals of nuclear family
that is allways high lighted out of perspective out of proportion,
Christmas times the tv adverts and Christmas cards etc,

Is way over rated in reality and doesn't live up to that and has many short comings and faults
Sounds good in theory 🤔 though

However society needs to put my funding into preventive effort work into improving mental health services for young people and children and supporting families in more Holistic effective ways which will benefit society so much for better
You will never ever get Uptopia obviously 🙄

However crime levels would be a improved in i think quite significant ways,

Susprisly how your environment you grew up in and other factors can have detrimental effect long lasting effects unless effective interventions are implemented such as having good youth clubs services etc.

cerisepanther73 · 29/05/2024 19:49

Oops sorry typo mistake 😅 my funding L.o.l *

People who say the phrase 'a bite to eat' should be rounded up and sent to Rwanda.

😂

What annoys me is when my husband says 'I'm just gonna have a light lunch.' Always a fucking 'light lunch.' 😜 Then he comes in from the kitchen with a bag of wotsits, a 2 finger kit-kat, 3 rounds of buttered toast, 3 chocolate biscuits, a pot rice, and 3 toffees. I'd hate to see his idea of a heavy lunch! 😆

English literature should be an optional subject at school, not core. Instead the following subjects (along with maths and English lang) should be prioritised:

Engineering/product design
Politics/philosophy/economics
Business management (including personal finance and entrepreneurship)
Applied computing - app design, AI
Sustainability - horticulture, recycling, carbon reduction
Science - physics, chemistry, biology
Music/art
Geography/history
Social sciences

I’m probably going to get banned now for saying this but here goes….

I think the concept of a ‘god’ is as legitimate as garden fairies. I can’t believe how many adults worldwide actually believe. It would be ok but the problems different faiths cause are catastrophic.

100% agree ! Totally with John Lennon

Realduchymarmalade · 21/05/2024 17:40

Recycling gifts is not thrifty, most people neither expect nor need a gift. If you really want to give a gift then buy something actually decent like a beautiful plant for the garden, a fruit tree, your favourite ever classic book that you think they might love too, a homemade pie or veg from your garden or anything you truly think they will love! Or just don’t buy a gift, there is no need. Just don’t pass that cheap hand cream, chemical–soup bubble bath or insipid bargain wine on to yet the next person.

This this this!. I am a teacher and am inundated with well meaning but gifts that I have no space for- small one bed flat. The parents are people who are financially poor so anything they buy deprives there own family

Most people are lovely and you'll find you have quite a lot in common including those who you think you'll have nothing in common with.

What a beautiful comment.

That has honestly made me reconceptialose how I think about humans.
