I'll go first ...

B&M is over rated

Most of the home decor is tacky
I can get cleaning products at in the supermarket without a separate trip.
It's not super cheap like people say when you really compare the prices

IVF should not be available on the NHS.
Far far too many people go to university to study Mickey Mouse shite that it’s completely devalued university education.
People claiming to prefer having children to not having children are lying and won’t admit to themselves because their lives cannot be unfucked.
Climate martyrs can piss off. Stop throwing orange paint at shit and go glue yourselves to the road in China.
Trans women are men.

orangegato · 22/05/2024 10:37

Oh and age gaps of over 10 years are grim and embarrassing for the existing children. You do not need to give your 18 year old a newborn sibling just because you feel the need to provide your new boyfriend with a child.

No man over the age of 40 should wear shorts unless he is taking part in a sport.

Does sport include outdoor activities such as gardening and groundwork?

What about in hot countries?

@K0OLA1D I don't know why you have gone for @IpsyUpsyDaisyDoos

As the OP of this thread

Don't come on here and fight

The whole thread is for peoples opinions. If you can't be nice get off this thread.

Oh come off it. This thread isn't 'nice', it's not intended to be nice ever. It's a regular feature until it gets so vile that it's deleted. It's only tolerated as it corrals the frothers in one place for a bit.

Stop being disingenuous and stop telling people to get off your thread, they really don't have to.

Frith2013 · 22/05/2024 10:47

The sticky up eyebrows that seem popular now look absolutely ridiculous.

Lots of Brits are obsessed with alcohol.

Dogs and totally unsuitable as pets.

Especially when he inevitably man-spreads and they poke out the side 👀.

Aye. You come over to NI and tell everyone they need to do national service and swear allegiance to the UK. See how that goes for you...

And be sure to livestream it all too!

I want a ticket to watch! (From a safe distance Grin)

Agreed and I think it was more @IpsyUpsyDaisyDoos going for @K0OLA1D

gretgret · 22/05/2024 12:35

I think people swear far too much. You don't notice it much until you have young children.
But once you do, you can't just put on the tv on - swearing/ rude words on all sorts of programmes, you walk down the street - swearing, you buy them a children's book - it's full of words like stupid, idiot, wet fart... You take them to school - school mates teach them the middle finger at age five.. And then your child is told off by teachers because he wasn't able to block all the nonsense he has been exposed to.

I didn't dare speak up, less me be banished from this nice thread. Ya know, the one where people call people chavy, common or grubby for the clothes they wear or having tattoos. Oh so light-hearted!

CrispieCake · 22/05/2024 12:40

Fathers of older babies/toddlers who don't work weekends should be required to report to toddler group between 9-12 on either a Saturday or Sunday morning with their offspring so mothers of young children get at least 3 hours a week to themselves in peace and quiet.

Chocolatepeanutbuttercupsandicecream · 22/05/2024 12:42

Arbitrary screen time limits, especially for older dc, do more harm than good and create an atmosphere of conflict for no real benefit.

I think what this means is: men are led by their dicks and it's all women's fault.

😂Aint that the truth lol.

LondonFox · 22/05/2024 13:06

CelesteCunningham · 22/05/2024 06:04

It is both - globally we're overpopulated and the efforts to feed and clothe that population are terrible for the planet (deforestation, emissions etc).

But in developed countries the birth rate is falling and we have more old people than young people, which is an economic rather than environmental problem.

Yeah but if we decide to stop feeding and supporting overpopulated and underdeveloped areas...
Well it would be really unpopular oppinion 😏

HooverTheRoof · 22/05/2024 13:07

4x4s and SUVs are horribly selfish and should be banned

The food in Aldi is cheap and rubbish

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 22/05/2024 13:17

Grandpa Jo was a selfish prick. He spent 20 years in bed feigning disability while his daughter or daughter in law worked like a slave to care for him. At the first suggestion of a free day out he suddenly is well and able bodied again and doesn't even consider her. Asshole!!!

I don't think that would be an unpopular opinion on MN!!

Hmm

I don’t see that as an unpopular opinion

surely that’s an opinion based only on personal value and not fact

screen time is seemingly causing a huge amount of issues in developing children and young tweens / teens

i think giving kids a phone - even as young tweens is a ticking time bomb for many, not all, but many.

early sexualisation, anxiety, exposure to inappropriate material, stress etc

it shouldn’t create an atmosphere of conflict to put rules in place to create a safe environment for children.

would be interested to hear your thoughts on it? ( not being snarky by the way- genuinely interested).

Princess Diana was a self-obsessed bimbo that slept around but moaned for years when her hubby did it and had no real talent other than piano playing. There, I've said it!

You're forgetting her award for guinea-pig care.

Women who come back to work and say they were bored as a sahm are dullards with no imagination or ingenuity. There are million interesting interests, skills, pastimes etc to pursue. And not one of them involves daytime tv or sitting in a baby group singing the wheels on the bus.
