Women who have unplanned pregnancies should be admired not vilified for giving their baby up for adoption. It should be always the third option. This would make the lives of infertile couples immeasurably happier and the birth mother should feel pride for her sacrifice, not judged like she is today. When I was young enough to be in the catchment I stated, I said the same about National Service and would happily have paused my career to do this. I'm too old now, but my children are in the catchment (hypothetical age), and they would do it too. Bring back some national pride.
