I'm South East, but it's on my bucket list to see it in real life 🤞🏽.

I think I’m too south to see it

Visible by eye throughout the UK tonight if the stats hold and it's dark enough.

I follow groups on Facebook and it's already visible in East Anglia and further south.

I doubt it - it's been seen in Greece in the last hour!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/05/2024 22:05

I'm just about to head out as it has finally got dark. I'm in the southern suburbs though so the lights of the city are to the north of me, so I'm not holding out much hope.

Tonkerbea · 10/05/2024 22:05

Would love to see pics if anyone manages to spot them

Got my fingers crossed for you

It's already visible in the south if you can avoid light pollution.

This is meant to be the biggest solar storm in a long time so if you can go out then I would!

ShiftySquirrel · 10/05/2024 22:09

A friend has sent me pictures already - he's in Suffolk.

DontBiteTheCat · 10/05/2024 22:09

I’ve just been out with my son but had no luck. I think there’s too much light pollution 😞

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 10/05/2024 22:12

Part of me wants to but I'm already cosy in bed. It won't really be dark enough to see by eye for a while yet up in the north east and I'm not bothered by it just being visible on camera.

I'm such a lightweight northern light spotter. I need nice displays that come along before bed time like it did on bonfire night.

I'm in Scotland and when it's clear we can normally see edges of it so I am.watching!

mrsanflowerpot · 10/05/2024 22:13

Is there anywhere listing timings for areas?

Snooperdoop · 10/05/2024 22:16

Heading out soon on the west coast of Wales. Luckily it's very easy to get to dark skies where we are. Did a couple of unsuccessful aurora chases last year and I'm really hopeful for tonight.

Ploppppppppp · 10/05/2024 22:17

If you look on twitter lots of people posting pics in uk. We have just seen in Hertfordshire but only through using a camera . the sky is very glowy tonight.

I’d really like to know this too!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/05/2024 22:17

Nothing to see here, unfortunately. The sky is still quite bright to the north and west, some of which must be light pollution. Plus there are massive trees so I can't see anything down low near the horizon.

YouAndMeAndThem · 10/05/2024 22:18

We are ironically, too far north! It doesn't get properly dark here for until late late!

QueenOfTheEntireFuckingUniverse · 10/05/2024 22:18

How much light pollution is too much? Do I need to leave town or just go to the park?

Marylou62 · 10/05/2024 22:19

Sitting in the car on the cliffs in North Cornwall... beautiful sky but not the real thing...

Pollipops1 · 10/05/2024 22:20

I’m in SW London & not sure if I’m imagining but the sky looks brighter.

Ploppppppppp · 10/05/2024 22:21

Oh I managed to work out to post a pic
