I don’t believe she’s going to sue. She was clearly backtracking and playing much of this down.

Haggisfish3 · 09/05/2024 21:06

If she doesn’t sue, surely it’s tantamount to admitting it?

Jerusalemaa · 09/05/2024 21:07

What was the point of interviewing someone who is not in touch with reality. She believes she has a boyfriend of 5 years who is a lawyer and many lawyer friends. PM is also exploiting her for views, how much is he making from this live tonight and all she got is £250.

igomeow · 09/05/2024 21:09

gimmegimmegimmeagin · 09/05/2024 21:02

Where can I watch it?

YouTube

MrsWhites · 09/05/2024 21:09

I can’t work out what I’ve just watched. Surely if she’s been to prison and had injunctions taken out against her that wouldn’t be difficult to prove?

It’s almost like she is goading people into proving she did it, either that or she genuinely believes she didn’t do the things the show claimed.

littletesco · 09/05/2024 21:10

Mistymornin · 09/05/2024 15:20

PM must have made her an offer she couldn't turn down! He will have to tread carefully...

£250 was the fee

She hasn't been to prison, the media would've dug that up by now. She was never convicted of anything.

HappierTimesAhead · 09/05/2024 21:15

The unfortunate thing is that people experiencing delusions often try to make sense of them by linking them to news events or by seeing themselves as part of something bigger (possibly a conspiracy)and all this attention will simply feed into that.

STIAWH · 09/05/2024 21:16

I'm not any sort of expert but it feels like a personality disorder to me.

One point is valid though. If Netflix says Baby Reindeer is a true story (not 'based on real events' or similar) then it all ought to be true. The show depicts Martha in court being sentenced to a nine month prison sentence. This didn't happen.

It was a very uncomfortable watch, wasn't it.

Highlighta · 09/05/2024 21:21

Do we think the lawyer boyfriend of five years, knows he is her boyfriend?

0wlQueen · 09/05/2024 21:21

All she's done is remove all doubt. I wondered what she'd say. But wow, 100% whackadoodle.

She said her mother was "very angry" with Laura walker who was the first woman she stalked. She believes her own distorted realities.

OriginalFloorboards · 09/05/2024 21:22

@Highlighta 😂

MrsWhites · 09/05/2024 21:23

If it’s true that she want charged with a crime or indeed sent to prison then regardless of how deranged she may be - Netflix are out of order.

They started the show with their ‘this is based on real life’ claims - at some point there should have been a disclaimer about using dramatic license about certain parts of the story.

TerriPie · 09/05/2024 21:28

Could she have been sectioned rather than jailed which maybe explains why no one can find evidence of a jail sentence?

Junction7 · 09/05/2024 21:29

I wonder what her sister is like, or if she has a relationship with her. Wow, that was a spooky watch.

Isn't that what 'based on' means?

TerriPie · 09/05/2024 21:37

Can totally tell her Mother has went NC years ago.

Luxell934 · 09/05/2024 21:38

Interesting there is no evidence of her going to prison.

It would be highly surprising if she hasn't been sectioned at some point.

AnotherCrazyOldCatLady · 09/05/2024 21:49

You don't get sectioned for having a personality disorder. Because it's not a mental illness and it's not treatable.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 09/05/2024 21:55

I really did not like PM statement about her never having married. So fucking what?

I feel like she is taking on PM though, and I cant stand him. She has made some good points, as odd as she is in her demeanor.

Could not agree more. He made "you've never married" sound the same as "you eat puppies for breakfast"

0wlQueen · 09/05/2024 22:01

Yes, that annoyed me too. I've never married because I didn't accept below bare minimum effort men. My not marrying was good judgement.

AnotherCrazyOldCatLady · 09/05/2024 22:04

Yeah, marriage isn't mandatory. You don't need to marry the least worst person you can find!

I felt he was this close to asking if she was a virgin. And I fully expected him to paint her as a weirdo for not having kids.

Other than in the programme I don t think there's any suggestion that the real Martha went to prison. That's been said from the start, not sure why that bit of fiction was included though
