I don’t like PM but this interview is compelling viewing. She appears to be very troubled- not sure she has a strong grip on reality.

Scintella · 30/05/2024 05:53

Martha gets slated whilst the man who raped him is kept under wraps.

I would say that Martha is odd but no one deserves to be revealed to the world. I'm sure less than flattering info could be found about most people.

I will be annoyed if Netflix and Gadd get away with this, hiding her identity was definitely not what they planned judging by their behaviour. The baby reindeer could have easily been a baby fawn, curtains could have been fix my boiler.

Josette77 · 30/05/2024 06:17

If a man stalked and sexually assaulted a woman would people be concerned about him?

I wouldn't. She is clearly unwell but also seems like a pretty shitty person. Both things can be true.

I sympathize with her victims.

Less than flattering? I'd call stalking and harrassing multiple people to the extent they sought legal help a bit more extreme than "less than flattering"...

Yes but Gadd could have stopped the stalking long before he did - he wasn't honest with the police - enjoyed the attention I think. I still don't agree with revealing her identity to the world. She's probably getting more threats and attention than he ever did.

Scintella · 30/05/2024 07:15

...... also making millions at her expense (even if she is a stalker), maybe he could split the profits with her - it is thanks to her he's found success.

🤣 yep, let’s reward her for her behaviour.

Scintella · 30/05/2024 08:52

Well publicising who she is has probably trebled him and Netflix’s viewers and profits - it would have quickly died away if she wasn’t discovered on Twitter - but it’s ok to manipulate the public, put the stalker themselves at risk for profits. Maybe they’ll do this with other ‘less deserving’ culprits. But she’s an evil woman so deserves all she gets.

Looks like she has sued Netflix now...

Yes - this will be interesting.
If she wins the case (if it gets that far) then it will open the gates for anyone who feels they've been misrepresented in a docudrama (or whatever they’re called).
Royal family re The Crown?

I think she has to win surely....unless they settle before it (which of course is still a win for her).

Josette77 · 10/06/2024 13:27

I don't think she has a hope in hell of winning.

She lies too much. She's already said she didn't look like the lead. She was much thinner back then according to her.

She has argued the lead actress looks nothing like her. That these things didn't happen. She can't keep her lies straight.

The MP's wife said that she'd struggle to show a loss of income or reputation, given she'd never held down a job.

Regarding her reputation, wouldn't she need to have character witnesses to say that she was a nice person and nothing like the character portrayed in the series? Her posts on social media say otherwise and I'm very doubtful that she has any actual friends..

MollyRover · 11/06/2024 06:06

That's one thing but the alleged sexual assault, the alleged conviction and prison sentence. The claim at the beginning of the show was this is a true story, not based on a true story or based on actual events. The assault can't be proven, she hasn't been convicted or in prison so technically it's not true. Why say that and not "based"? I can't understand taking a risk like that.

Scintella · 11/06/2024 07:03

I think Netflix and Gadd juggled with the issue of outing her and decided that outing her (a friendless, relatively poor, unlikeable person) was the most lucrative option and left in the data that made her findable online. AND said it was a true story which probably also drew in many more millions of viewers I'm sure.

Scintella · 11/06/2024 07:03

The coverage of the legal case will bring in many more viewers.

Wingding · 13/08/2024 16:55

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 08/05/2024 16:29

I encountered this woman several times in the late 90s early 00s and she is everything he says she is and hasn't changed in the slightest.

She's absolutely nuts and completely Teflon. She will be loving all the attention this will absolutely inflame her behaviour.

Can't wait to watch though.

Whoa you met her in real life! Was it from watching the Baby Reindeer show that you realised it was the same woman ? Or only after Piers?
