Being rich & thin

Why are all the women in the smart, rich set thin enough for couture? Reading mag with ‘society pages’. Princess Beatrice in their ranks. Geri Halliwell etc. They always seem to be at lunches & dinners, parties, yet no one is even a UK size 10. What’s the secret or are they all far better disciplined than most?

I find eggs quite filling. I've just had two boiled eggs and a slice of buttered sourdough cut into soldiers at 8.30am and probably won't want much lunch today- will probably have something light like soup, another piece of bread and some fruit at about 1pm. Dinner will be homemade spag bol (part beef and a few different veg in the sauce) at about 6.30pm. I don't snack much. I'll maybe have a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits, or a handful of salted nuts, or a few crisps or a small chocolate bar while waiting for dinner to cook. This is normal eating to me. I'm a healthy weight, not thin or fat.

I eat a reasonable amount of fruit and veg- about 6 portions a day on most days, include some whole grains like porridge, wholegrain bread, nuts, beans etc. I eat dairy, fish and meat and don't restrict any foods at all.

To include all the recommended nutrients in your diet you have to be eating a reasonable amount and they all contain calories. Anyone who is very thin is probably restricting themselves because it's pretty hard to include all the recommended nutrients and still be eating low enough calories to maintain a very low weight.

@OneBadKitty why eat snacks while you wait for dinner to cook? Surely you’d spoil your appetite.I agree with about getting all nutrients though. When I have done intermittent fasting I have worried about not getting all the nutrition.

Edited

I usually eat lunch at 12pm, so by the time I've come home from work and cooked our evening meal and waited for DH to be home it's usually about 6.30pm. I'm usually home at about 4pm and am really hungry so have a snack then while preparing food but it's good while until we actually eat so feel I need it.

Personally I think many who are slim naturally eat little and often. I have to eat reasonably frequently otherwise I feel really hungry.
