Perhaps he lost his photo ID too?

More on Blackpool South

massive 26% swing to Labour

third biggest swing to Lab in history

Conservatives only just beat Reform (by just over 100 votes)

Belatedly paying the cat tax so I can comment….

Yes, I heard Holden too, talking veryveryveryfast as though that would help, and insisting that all their education reforms were BETTER THAN SWEDEN AND DENMARK and all those forrin places because we are THE TOP IN THE WORLD, nay THE UNIVERSE. Honestly, a child in the playground would have more maturity than these people.

As someone who had one child go through the education system in the UK and currently has a child going through the education system in Sweden, and whose oldest is now a teacher in Sweden, all I can say is 'Hahahahahaha'. That's such a funny joke.

Good results, v pleased to see Rushmoor, I'm in a true blue area, just below the map above, and made up of many 'old' Tories, appalled by the current rabble's appeal to populism. I'm expecting Lib Dem here. Dear Rishi, we don't like the Right; the more you push it, the shorter your reign will be.

itsgettingweird · 03/05/2024 09:23

As someone who's worked in education for 17 years it was the funniest thing I've heard for ages!

I wonder who they are trying to kid?!

itsgettingweird · 03/05/2024 09:26

Had a look at my local breakdown.

Turnout was appalling across the board but my area was dire.

Also it wasn't the close call you'd expect in some areas.
It was in some (the ones Braverman like to frequent as rich areas!) but in others Labour have gained in number of votes even if not overall votes.

Will be very interesting GE time where we go.

itsgettingweird · 03/05/2024 09:27

Sorry. - meant it wasn't the landslide you'd expect and was a close call.

My dear hope is that Braverman loses her seat. Truly that will be my other champagne socialist moment

I have a cat deficit and can't pay. My flowers are wilting and my dog's not cute. Apologies to everyone, I'm in your debt.

All dogs are cute and back passages ( and other things) are also legal tender.

Jonathan Ashworth tells Jonathan Gullis that “he’d be toast” after a 16 point swing in the Lincolnshire PCC by-election

Rushmoor in Surrey? That Rushmoor? That’s huge, I’d have been half expecting Libdem but Labour! That’s amazing.

Nick Robinson made an error in the middle of the night. Rushmoor is not typical Surrey/Hampshire, it includes Aldershot which has a big military presence. In some ways it turning red therefore is even more significant. It doesn't necessarily mean we can extrapolate to neighbouring constituencies such as Goves and Hunts.

newnamethanks · 03/05/2024 10:05

Gullis. At PMQs even his fellow Tories were laughing at him. How is it people like him are able to steal a living when so poorly equipped? Imagine having to work with him.

Would you like to borrow one of mine?

It's a mystery why Jezza chose Godalming over Bordon 🤔

No photos of Sunak casting a vote then?

Mystery as No10 and Tory party refuse to say where, when or how Rishi Sunak voted

Well that might identify how many times he is on the electoral role, and rather blow out of the water the Rayner nonsense.
Or perhaps he isn't on the electoral role, because home is in California?

You can be on t electoral roll in more than one ward. I was as a student. Got to vote for my ILEA candidate as well as GLC candidate at Uni, rather than waste an anti-Tory vote at home.

I know, I am now for a not disimilar reason.
But the Tories don't appear to know this.

Just checking in. Disappointing results @VONC in Holyrood this afternoon (70:58 for SNP to continue) I hope everyone votes tomorrow in England. Depressingly we are stuck with the SNP for 2 more long years here.

Nooooooooooooo. People talk about how bad Torys are, at least we know they're ethos.
SNP on the other hand...........
