No, like another poster said. Only interesting women post interesting things.

I don’t post anything interesting I’m afraid, that’s why this is trending. Go figure

You what now? I’m torn between rage at the misogyny and sympathy and sadness at the idea that “trending” on mumsnet floats your boat so much. You should try trolling OP - I think it would be right up your alley.

I’m not

I think she’s gorgeous, I don’t think she needs filler and belive it’s negatively affected her looks. In a business where she makes a lot of money on her looks- then people are gona comment

I'm confused. Are you saying that female television presenters are paid for their looks, and that they have no other purpose?

KirstenBlest · 21/04/2024 17:15

I meant KM not KW, although she is now probably CW. Smile

KirstenBlest · 21/04/2024 17:17

@fromaytobe , TV presenters are usually hired for being good at their job and looking attractive is part of it.

BeardyButton · 21/04/2024 17:18

DaoineSidhe · 21/04/2024 17:05

I don't like her face either way, that is my judgement. I judge all the time, daily, several times on several things. It is normal to judge also known as having an opinion, if you are a human.

I think that makes you an arsehole. We are all arseholes sometimes, but some of us realise it. We give ourselves a talking to and we try not to be arseholes. We tell ourselves things like “it’s not nice to be a judgemental arsehole -stop!” Sounds like you’re totally ok with being an arsehole. That’s fine too. I just avoid people like you. And I try (try!) to bring up my kid to know the difference between being a judgmental arsehole and ‘having an opinion’.

@Solgrass

What a lovely post 🙄 Haven’t we moved on from criticising women’s opinions in 2024?
Nah. You dint get to use this one to get out of bitching and judging people ffs

It’s fillers I think - they get that pillow-face look.

It’s up to her but it is a shame as she’s so attractive and doesn’t need it - it would be nice to see a beautiful woman ageing naturally these days. She’s the same age as me and it does start to make you feel pressured when you see women in the public eye with line-free faces and taut jawlines. You have to keep reminding yourself that it’s not natural and that it usually ends up looking awful as the older they get the more extreme the procedures become to stay looking “youthful”. Look at Sharon Osborne - she can afford the best surgeons and yet just looked awful on big brother - she’d look so much better if she’d left her face alone.

Its a slippery slope!

The reason SO looked so bad was the extreme and rapid weight loss due to using Ozempic.

Solgrass · 21/04/2024 17:22

So those calling out others for discussing if a celeb has had filler or not- by swearing and throwing slurs. I mean, it’s just beautiful

I remember Leslie Ash having
lip fillers decades before this current trend
and being totally traumatised and career damaged by it, as they were very swollen, ie just like many today, but not the fashion back then. How times have changed...

LA got old type non reversible lip filler and she had a terrible reaction to it. They went wrong. It's not that we grew to like that look. That look was a result of a botch.

Opinions, male or female, are fair game. Women's appearance less so.

category12 · 21/04/2024 17:04

Oh I think people did - it was a bit of a turning point in public opinion for her and Schofield, and I think gave the media the appetite to take him down over something that was probably well-known already in those circles.

For celebs that rely on being likeable it was a stupid move.

It was just such a nothing thing. Didn’t affect anyone’s lives. So odd

IncompleteSenten · 21/04/2024 17:33

Probably.
The pressure on women in the public eye to not show any signs of aging is immense.
It's awful.

Solgrass · 21/04/2024 12:29

I think it’s (more) filler and new veneers. I can’t stand her since the whole Phil scandal. I’ll get flamed for saying it but the minute I knew she was keeping his secrets she became ugly to me.

thankyoujeremy · 21/04/2024 17:44

Prawncow · 21/04/2024 12:44

I can’t imagine why women who’re on tv have Botox and fillers. It’s not like random people are constantly critiquing their appearance online …

🤣

CormorantStrikesBack · 21/04/2024 17:48

Is the iPhone on a tether thing an anti London mugging practicality or a fashion statement? Genuine question.

Branster · 21/04/2024 17:48

But how will these trends for fillers/Botox will ever have a chance of disappearing if we don't discuss the results from photos accessible to all?
Obvious interventions will be noticeable. So they will be mentioned/discussed.
They really don't look very enhancing to me personally, but there is a large number of women who like the aesthetic. Because they see it so much, it has become normalised and desirable. Like a really crap No1 hit, you hear it all the tine, you get used to it and can easily tolerate it and grow to like it. But it is still a shit song.

Yeh, her teeth look different.

She had the most amazing smile (that’s why she would have got that toothpaste advert ages ago )
I know people don’t like gummy smiles but actually it’s very youthful. I hope she hasn’t got the veneers.

I know in America they are big on the ‘perfect’ smile though and I think thats likely where her future work will be

Good lord, you're actually presenting tearing a woman down for how she looks as a feminist position?

I think that’s exactly it. New teeth for America. It’s made her top lip look different hasnt it.

Or random others critiquing what people post about?

No. We shouldn't move on from pulling up women who criticise other women's appearance - and it is always women who do that.

If you don't want the comments then don't post abject petty opinions that have nothing to do with you but cause hurt and really set women back. Your thread is pathetic.

ZsaZsaTheCat · 21/04/2024 17:56

Prawncow · 21/04/2024 13:31

That is a feminist issue. The underlying problem is that is that women face much more scrutiny and judgement over their appearance than men. Wear make up, you’re judged. Don’t wear make up, you’re judged. Use fillers and Botox, you’re judged. Don’t use fillers and Botox and you’re judged. My personal stance is that the easiest thing to do is stop judging women over the choices they make and ask when was the last time you looked at Dermot O’Leary’s skin? Has Ben Shephard had too much done? Don’t know or care? Then why care about Holly Willoughby.

The reason women don’t care about Dermot or Ben is that they are male and women only compare themselves to other women.

Why hasn’t a major national paper proof read an (non news) article before publishing it 🙄…..

“The TV power couple were spotted taking their doc for a walk in a park local to their home, wrapping up against the cold with a warm coat…”

They can’t spell tartan either. I was going to say it’s the sun what do we expect then remembered the Guardian has had trouble with spelling!
