Just for the fun of it.

I live near a place called Pity Me.
I've visited Twatt in Orkney.
Some people from our running club took part in a recent race near Shittlehope.

What is the funniest place name you have come across?

When I first moved to Nottingham I was baffled by buses displaying "Arnold" and "Bunny", like, is that a destination or just your name?

SomeonesEx · 09/03/2024 20:58

Bell End in Worcestershire. Home of Bell End Farm, which is presumably where most television & radio "personalities" were grown.

erlangshen · 09/03/2024 21:00

We are currently on holiday, just drove past somewhere called "Swineshead".

Don't forget Nottingham's village of Gotham either. It makes the den of iniquity that they portray in the Batman films look like The Night Garden in comparison!!

...And if you're going to Nottingham, don't forget to pop in and see your grandparents in their own lovely village!

There’s a Fanny Hands Lane in Lincolnshire, we always look out for it on our way to the coast.

Coming on to here to say Fanny hands Lane! 🤣 It's on the way to Skeggy if you're coming from the north.

I also live near Pity Me, but I'm from the South originally. Big fan of Bean in Kent personally, whenever they talk about the Bean interchange on the traffic news it cracks me up.
