Which activities make your heart sink?

Each to their own but which activities that your friends and family love are just not for you?

I’m genuinely pleased that others love it but I’m really not a fan of going for a walk unless there’s some other purpose e.g Exploring a city. I find it boring and difficult and often painful(Due to disabilities)

Also anything involving clubs or alcohol. I don’t drink and I have sensory issues so they’re too loud for me.

There are others but I want to hear what activities you dread.

TIA

A swimming party where I need to supervise and this meant wear a swimming costume. Of course all the dad’s went. Luckily we were there first and already in the pool! 😆
I’d wanted DH to go, but work came in so off he went!

OMG the swimming party episode of Motherland was hilarious. Sounds similar 😂

Going to the pub particularly if I have to stand.

I can drink at home or with a meal, I'm not sure why I need to go out and pay £££ to do it.
Also my hearing is going so I miss most of what is said.

I used to love going to the pub when I was younger mind.

I could have written your post, I am exactly the same with a few add ons -

Weddings where I know no one, and am there as a partner or +1 of someone who knows everyone. Family weddings I love though.

House gatherings (barbeques particularly) where it gets loud and shouty when folk have had a few. That's fine, I don't drink and although I join in, I find it hard to break into the drunken fun sometimes. So I love escaping to the den to watch cartoons with the kids!

Hen parties. Nope

BTW I'm a normal person who loves life ha ha.

opera

taxi4ballet · 06/03/2024 17:03

A walk with no destination.

A walk with a destination 10 miles away is worse.

Have you seen the pool party episode of Motherland?

TheIceQween · 06/03/2024 17:06

The weekly Aldi shop

PTSDBarbiegirl · 06/03/2024 17:07

Clubs, weddings, baby showers, funerals, work outings, looking at strangers in photographs. Massive introvert, obv.

Bunnyhair · 06/03/2024 17:07

Board games make me want to gnaw my own limbs off like a trapped animal.

Gophering · 06/03/2024 17:07

Wow I like most of things others have mentioned like walks, drinks parties, bowling etc but I hate spas and massage type stuff.

SirenSays · 06/03/2024 17:07

Boardgames seems like such a cosy wholesome way to pass the time. Then I play them and think Hmm, bit shit really.

Yup.

My heart sinks like a stone when the school asked for baking for their cake sale.. DD's school used to give them a night off homework so they could bake instead. I can't bake. I hate baking. the supermarkets have very nice packs of plain fairy cakes and frosted icing

takemeawayagain · 06/03/2024 17:11

Anything where you have to just stand around chit chatting to people.

MangosteenSoda · 06/03/2024 17:11

Karaoke, spas, musicals with the exception of Cabaret.

twingiraffes · 06/03/2024 17:11

Manicures. Had one once as a birthday treat - never again.

If ever there was one thing that makes me want to go and hide in the bushes, this is it.

Thestruggler · 06/03/2024 17:14

Spa days. Just no.

IggOrEgg · 06/03/2024 17:14

Going to watch any sort of physical fight, so boxing, mma and whatnot. I used to go out with a guy who did the UFC sort of gumph, went once to watch to support him and felt sick the entire night, and called our relationship off shortly after. I’m not a squeamish at all and I’m very tough in lots of ways but it’s just barbaric imo.

BarrelOfOtters · 06/03/2024 17:16

"Weddings where I know no one, and am there as a partner or +1 of someone who knows everyone. Family weddings I love though."

I've had some of my best weddings as a +1 - you can do whatever you like, you don't have any preconceived views of you or of anyone there and can dance like a loon.

Family weddings, oh God the people you 'have' to talk to... and remember which faction is fighting with which...

Bunnyhair · 06/03/2024 17:17

Crafting.
Even hearing the word ‘crafting’ annoys me.

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 06/03/2024 17:18

Fancy dress.
Anything involving "team work".
Watching sport on TV (with the exception of downhill skiing and tennis).
"Hen nights"
Clubbing
Busy, noisy theme parks - especially during school holidays!

ALongHardWinter · 06/03/2024 17:19

Just remembered another one. A massage. The idea of a total stranger,or anyone actually, rubbing their hands all over me makes me cringe. My ex had a bit of an obsession with wanting to give me 'a nice massage'. I got fed up with repeatedly telling him to fuck off that I did not like being massaged.
