I saw a whole family dressed like this house in the library today, really odd.

Horror and depression

Nobody lives like that, all those books spread out on a shelf like they are for sale, hundreds of things to dust a clean. Logs in the house? Where is the log burner?

I call this look 'orphan chic'.

It's horrible. Opposite of restful or calming. Lack of colour makes me tense. It's so unnatural.

That's a lot of money to rent in the middle of nowhere.

It reminds me of those comedy sketches "sad,beige clothes for sad,beige children" buying very expensive clothes to look very poor

I have log burners. We stack some logs inside the house

i look at any of those wonderfully curated log piles and I KNOW they’re crawling with the little buggers…

Imagine them living in that house, they would merge with the walls and furniture and lose each other

I've not rtht but surely the whole point is to make it look as inoffensive and bland as possible because it's in the market to rent, this appealing to a wide market?
It's hardly a horror show - just a lovely house with too much beige.

Looking at my house, which is small and a total hodge potch of furniture, child and dog stuff, I kind of love the beige house.

It looks like the beginning of a creepy Scandi Noir tv series, when the whole family have mysteriously disappeared leaving the house abandoned. The sole police officer investigating walks slowly through the gloomy house on a winters day, floorboards creaking. Cue haunting music & arty shots of ghostly children in pinafores running through foggy woods , laughter hanging in the chilled air.

But I absolutely LOVE that house.
Not the decor. It looks like a lot of sepia toned photographs.

But it would be so easy to add colour to such a well prepared palette.

I don't think you can live laugh love in this house.
I think you can get excited about yeast, and play with pine cones, and be unvaccinated.

Wouldn’t be loving the massive bug hotel they’ve created under the stairs.

My neutral obessed MIL would love that. She's often got a fully beige load of washing out on the line!😄

Sad beige children have to live somewhere when they grow up. Or whilst they grow up.

How depressing. It looks like it would smell of damp, and be a home for orphans forced to work in a cotton mill. Why ruin a lovely Edwardian house? I'm slightly concerned by all that wood under the stairs...

I love it.
It'd be a complete ball ache to live in as a renter though. You'd be scared to move in case you messed it up!
