It has a French interior look I think. I like it, but it’s definitely been over blown.

CutthroatDruTheViolent · 03/03/2024 14:39

I'll say the same thing as I said when this popped up on Reddit yesterday - it's a bit much in every room, but I don't mind it.

Personally I wouldn't have it in my home.

LuckySantangelo35 · 03/03/2024 14:39

It’s nice op @Ginmonkeyagain

im not sure how you think a house should be decorated especially one about to be rented out

Bellyblueboy · 03/03/2024 14:40

It’s rented - tenant could inject a bit of colour with cushions, bedding, lamps etc.

Guavafish1 · 03/03/2024 14:40

I like the kitchen and bathroom. Needs a tad be more colour to make it fun

therealcookiemonster · 03/03/2024 14:41

wouldn't necessarily do up my house like that but it is beautiful

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/03/2024 14:44

The decor is not to my taste - I prefer colour - but all it needs is a lot of emulsion and gloss, and it would be a lovely house - it has good bones.

bozzabollix · 03/03/2024 14:44

It’s beautiful but the absolute opposite of my house. Would be a great holiday house, you’d go there, feel all Insta and restful then come back to the crap in your own house. I like colour too much for it to be mine, and you’d need to be obsessed to follow the aesthetic (and not have kids, or dogs, or anything apart from natural fibres).

Fair play to someone who can live the life, certainly isn’t me.

Mustardseed86 · 03/03/2024 14:44

The inside definitely doesn't match the outside, and the walls are not good. It's better than the grey interiors that look like black-and-white photos but definitely some colour and liveliness needed.

Ginmonkeyagain · 03/03/2024 14:46

@LuckySantangelo35 If I was renting somewhere out furnished I would do it in decent hard wearing neutral colours, solid well built furniture and then let the tenants themselves have a conversation with me about their preferences for things like curtains and blinds.

I certainly wouldn't bother with an elaborate curated aesthetic.

But I am not, so it is irrelevent.

It IS very beige, isn't it? - I wonder if This One and This One's Wife would fancy it as a UK pied a terre ?

Edited as part of my ongoing hostilities with autocarrot

laclochette · 03/03/2024 14:49

It's nearly nice but it somehow just misses the mark. Often happens when someone copies their taste wholesale from references rather than really knowing themselves and letting their own style develop. It's an odd mix of Ibiza chic and earthy English bohemian à la Toast and a lot of it is quite tacky.

viques · 03/03/2024 14:50

The only thing not to like is the earwig, spider, mouse, woodlouse hotel they have built under the stairs. I would have to be armed with a can of raid every time I went through that hallway.

Shortpoet · 03/03/2024 14:52

DiscoBeat · 03/03/2024 14:09

I can see them in JojoMaman. 'No darling, you can't have a ghastly red coat. Mummy doesn't like colour'

Why did they not make the bed?

The unmade bed reminded me of the Death of Chatterton painting, but I went and looked at it again and he was wearing purple trousers, so I don’t think he’d have been let upstairs.

When your house is just too too tasteful
HemlockSoup · 03/03/2024 14:53

I think it's shitty when people inflict their sad beige aesthetic onto their kids. Let the kids have some gaudily coloured toys, you drab meanies.

ItsallIeverwanted · 03/03/2024 14:55

As others have said, it's staged. The people that live there don't live in sepia toned clothes...duh!

Roastiesarethebestbit · 03/03/2024 14:56

Ilovemyshed · 03/03/2024 10:21

Don't see the problem here, presuming you are not planning to rent it? Its restful, very staged for the photos. So what.

But it’s IS for rent! Furnished!

Annielou67 · 03/03/2024 14:56

Whoever said it has the instagrammer homesteader vibe - yes absolutely. Quite impractical - all that wood under the stairs, think of the wood lice crawling out from that. A utility sink without a drainer- madness- and the candles hanging over it, and the green tap. There is a crinkly undyed linen vibe I dont really like.

oakleaffy · 03/03/2024 14:56

It’s a bit too “ Try hard” rather than evolving naturally.

BresciaBike · 03/03/2024 14:56

Those walls look filthy!

I think it's the decor and style of photos however.

raspberryjuiceandpompoms · 03/03/2024 14:57

Looks like AI 🤔

DaphneHendersonChorley · 03/03/2024 14:59

The decor and overall aesthetic of the interior is completely at adds with the exterior.

Reminds me of this place. Perhaps the owners also went there and got inspired!

I love the wooden doors, tables and bed frames but yes the overall effect is drab and dreary and brown and grey. Whatever effect has been used on the walls just makes them look grubby.

I don’t really understand the clothes and bags hanging up in the cloakroom(?) area. Looks like they only wear brown and a bit of blue. Reminds me of a particular religious group or era but I can’t place it.

The Amish?

Not allowed telephones, even if they are beige!

Maireas · 03/03/2024 15:04

@Shortpoet , yes those trousers are a bit bright, and I can spot something red velvet to the right. So a bit too cheerful, but definitely the same vibe.
