Rain, mud, more rain and mud

I'm Moaning.

But is anyone else sick. To. Fucking. Death. Of the Fucking. Endless. Rain?

I'm peri menopausal, but fuck me, this weather is really getting me down. (And I know it's the weather because the very few dry days we've had, my mood is instantly lifted)

Please don't say I need to get out and go for a walk, get some fresh air (I've a dog and horse, so no matter the weather I'm out in it every day)

Is there anything I can do to cheer myself up? It's affecting my work as I'm just a grumpy bitch.

(it's been soooo bad on occasion I've even considered having my darling horse pts because I can't deal with it anymore)

Help. Please...

I'm exactly the same. Sick of getting soaked everyday walking the dogs. It's really miserable. I did get battered by some hail earlier though just to break up the rain a little bit.

nzeire · 01/03/2024 19:26

In Nz, I think it rained continuously for a YEAR last year.

it rained. And rained. And rained. People lost their houses through slips, orchards, livestock, it was horrendous

it dried up this summer and we are all bouncing like madzters!

sunmer soon guys x

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 01/03/2024 19:26

I generally love rain, I'm Welsh so I kind of have to.

I went to a Welsh uni in the early 70s. Rain and wind from October to June IIRC 😆. I used to walk across the campus to lectures and get soaked down one side, then back across to hall of residence and get soaked down the other side.

It's so changeable too - today we've had rain, hail, snow, wind & sun!

In SW London and I was out this afternoon thinking 'Blue sky! a lovely drying breeze! this is more like it! we;ve turned the corner and it's SPRING!' then a hour later it's lashing down. Again.

spiderlight · 01/03/2024 19:34

God yes. Even my dog is sick of it! All our local walks are flooded. Our garden is saturated. It's just endless. There's been a case of Alabama Rot in one of our local parks so I'm paranoid about that as well.

takemeawayagain · 01/03/2024 19:37

I am so sick of it. Today I got hailed on, vile.

LindorDoubleChoc · 01/03/2024 19:41

It's awful isn't it? I'm absolutely desperate to get out in the garden.

Failing that, just a walk round to the shops without getting soaked would be nice.

repopupieres · 01/03/2024 19:41

Sorry, it was me moaning about the hot summer that did it. I still prefer this wet to the very hot summers

I'll take this over the 'several hundred mile wall of snow' meteorological apocalypse that MSN keeps threatening us with. Not a fan of hot summers myself, but this has gone Far Enough.

Twilight7777 · 01/03/2024 19:47

oh I know tell me about it, I have had enough of the rain! Only been able to take my dog out once in 4 days due to the rain (my dog will not leave the house if there’s rain, she’ll grudgingly do her business in the back yard if it’s raining but her face is like thunder the entire time 😆). One thing I am thankful for is that it’s not getting dark til 6pm now.

hattie43 · 01/03/2024 20:02

Totally agree . I'm so fed up with this constant rain . I feel life is on hold because you bloody can't do anything . I've just been abroad and it's made me realise how much I value dry weather and dare I say a bit of sun

AlisonDonut · 01/03/2024 20:18

I live in the South of France and we usually count the days of rain. And we are on top of a hill and cannot move for bloody mud.

We are into week 17 of relentless rain now. Even on the odd day it has been slightly dry it still rained at night.

I'm so done with it all. If we didn't have quite a few (10) feral cats who we look after we'd have gone to Spain for a month.

Just make it fucking stop.

XpelairHamPortal · 01/03/2024 20:19

Not just you, OP. I'm bloody sick of the relentless weather too. The bottom of the garden is under water as soon as it rains as ground is so saturated, we get soaked on the school runs and don't feel like going out anywhere for the same reason. It's grim.

Chipsahoy · 01/03/2024 20:22

Come to north east Scotland. The last couple of weeks have been glorious. Odd rain day but not many as pavements are dry and mud from the last lot of melting snow is hard again.

cinnamonbiscuit · 01/03/2024 20:23

Couldn't agree more, it's absolutely driving me round the bend. I've got a DD aged 3 and another aged 6 months and I don't drive so am essentially stuck in the house with them both day after day because the 3yo just kicks the rain cover off the pushchair and it feels a bit silly taking a 6mo out in it as well when it's anything more than drizzle. All I want to do is go for a walk in the fresh air and let the toddler run around without getting plastered in mud!

And I've just noticed that tomorrow's clear forecast has just now changed to, once again, rain all bloody day! Angry

Tomatina · 01/03/2024 20:27

Yep, totally fed up. Where I am ( west country) it's been continuously grey and wet and dark since October. And now the temperature is back down to 6 or 7. Every now and again we get an hour or so of blue sky in the morning, but by 11 am the bloody clouds are back. Spring needs to hurry up, we're getting desperate for some light.

Soonenough · 01/03/2024 20:36

Freezing cold rain here. City days out planned over the past couple of months that have been a complete disappointment as no pleasure walking around in constant cold and wet. You can wrap up but rain as well is horrible. Garden mucky , outside walls spattered, car filthy. Cabin fever by all.

sanityisamyth · 01/03/2024 20:45

I never understand all those people who say they like autumn, winter or spring. It's just dark, grey, cold and wet. No bloody positives at all.

User19798 · 01/03/2024 20:47

I'm a farmer. Do not get me fucking started.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/03/2024 20:51

I’m usually a pretty upbeat person but honestly today when it was just pissing it down again I actually felt really grumpy and almost tearful which is pretty ridiculous. I have bedding and towels that I want to wash but I just cannot have it drying around the house anymore, getting mould in areas.

The BBC weather website is so unreliable too.

Veggiecurry · 01/03/2024 20:51

‘Just go for a walk!’

We live on a country road that’s literally flooded. The ditches at the side have filled up and it’s gone across the road. Huge lakes - had to cancel DS swimming lesson last week as we couldn’t get there Sad I suppose he could have practiced on the road!

FanSpamTastic · 01/03/2024 20:59

Maybe take a trip to Barcelona where they have had 1000 days without rain and are now in a state of emergency and have water rationed on a per person basis.

We had colleagues over in the uk this week from Barcelona - it's a shame we can't share the rainy days with them!

lambhotpot · 01/03/2024 21:32

I love the rain wish it would rain every day.
Thunderstorms are the best.

JamSandle · 01/03/2024 21:37

I find it really cosy and snuggly.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 01/03/2024 21:46

It's really pissing me off. I commute on foot and it's making me irritable. Enough ffs!!
