Putting washing on the line in the sun

I apologise if this is a niche pleasure - but does anyone else get a huge pleasure from seeing big sheets on the washing line in the sun?

Maybe it's a childhood thing.

After a hail storm and mad rain it's now very windy/sunny and I have an operatic line of crazy demented dark laundry including my dressing gown which is going to smell amazing when I put it on.

Same. And 45mph hail, which looked fun from inside (I'd just got back from walking the dog!).

I saw this photo online and immediately thought of this thread.
Surely we can beat these?

Four loads washed and dried outside today, including our bedding which is now ironed and back on the bed. First line-dried bedding of the year.

Mind, it decided to rain at four o'clock so it was a mad dash to get it in before it was soaked. 😂

Happy to rejoin the washing line crew - today my new retractable line was strung out between two trees and dried its first load of washing. It's been a sad time in recent years - our old rotary one collapsed while permanently blocking its socket, the temporary line I strung between the rotary line's pole and my son's climbing frame eventually pulled the pole over (still blocking the socket), so last year I ended up putting the drying frame out on the patio. Very satisfying anyway!

hello everyone. I got 5 loads dry today. First load went in at 6am.

I shall luxuriate in clean sheets dried on the line today.

I got one load dry today (plus some hand washed bras). It was cold though so the washing all felt a bit damp even though it wasn’t. It’s in the airing cupboard now.

Disaster! My lovely reliable washing machine has given up the ghost mid wash. It's replacement comes Tuesday but meanwhile the washing stands empty..

I had my washing machine break too for several weeks. I had to go to the launderette at one point! I am still catching up now.

It is good to hear your washing stands empty.

Omg! My washing machine started making a racket back in February. Was without a machine for a few days and that was bad enough!

We were without a machine for about 10 days in December 2022. Bad times!

Thanks @declutteringonedayatatime but the last load got trapped in the machine, once rescued it was still so wet the washing line was sagging under the weight! Fortunately a decent breeze means I will have some clean, dry pants for work tomorrow 😂

Well the weekend forecast promised us wall- to -wall sunshine over both days… HA!!!

Started glorious Saturday morning, clear blue skies, sun out, by the time my machine had finished its 59 minute cycle, the bloody sun had gone in (never came back out) and it was ruddy freezing!

Sunday..? It rained all day🫤

One day… one day…. It will start warm and sunny and stay warm and sunny all day!

We are having a lovely stretch; our first settled dry spell. It's blissful.

Whereabouts are you exactly? It was 3 degrees here this morning (zone 6 London)! My energy bills are going through the roof as I still need the heating on. It's nearly May ffs 🤬

I'm near the south coast, Co. Cork, Ireland @Meredusoleil Screenshot attached of our weather for the week. It's the first day I went without my coat this year. We'll enjoy it while it lasts. We get plenty of rain usually!

The first time in about 3 or 4 weeks that it’s been out most of the day and back in properly dried!
