Putting washing on the line in the sun

I apologise if this is a niche pleasure - but does anyone else get a huge pleasure from seeing big sheets on the washing line in the sun?

Maybe it's a childhood thing.

Love this too!!! Always reminds me of growing up.. they smell amazing too! Sadly we don't have a line, apartment living 🙄so the closest I get is my clothes horse outside on the balcony.... still love it!

I remember someone on here years ago talking about washing getting "darked on" & it's always stayed with me 😆

Amazing drying weather over the last wee while. I got new bedding delivered today and it’s washed and out on the line so I can get it on the bed tonight

I have recently decluttered my bedding and towels so now when I do a big wash I have somewhere to put it all; life changing relief and joy.

Sooo jealous!! New bedding and line dried… I have no words! Forecast for the weekend is good, so fingers crossed for plenty of washing out…

A week or so back I got all my sofa and chair covers washed, dried and back on in time to watch evening TV. Life is good.

Yes it's one of my favorite things in life. No shame here.

I’ve done all the dogs bedding and fleeces but have had to tumble as grey and drizzly. Weekend had better be dry and sunny….😬

I’m on holiday just now -yes the accommodation has a washing machine this is me did you really think it wouldn’t ?😂and it’s all drying in an hour😂

I so need to do this! This house is full of stuff that doesn’t get used which means it’s really hard to find space to put the stuff we do use away.

It's made a huge change as bedding and towels take up so much space. It was really hard but I got rid of probably third of each category - amazing how much easier life is as there's somewhere to put it all. Simple idea but bizarrely hard for me to achieve.

Is anyone else actively hunting for things to wash ?
I have a lot of bedding that doesn't get used much so it smells a bit musty so I am working my way through that.

I need a new sock peggy thingy, can anyone recommend one ? I've seen them in homebargins , b&m , tescos and the likes but they all look really flimsy.

I want a robust one as I put heavier things on it like t-shirt, pot towels, and small hand towels. I have only got short washing lines so I like to maximise hanging space .

Ikea for sock thingies. They're very robust and half price at the moment.

Not what you’re asking but possibly relevant nonetheless, I have some of these clipped onto my line to slot coat hangers through. Great for hanging T-shirts, dresses etc without taking up much space. Also makes it really quick to get stuff in if it rains.

I’ve got two sets of bedding on the line this afternoon. And thanks to this thread I invested in a new cross-body peg bag which is an absolute game changer!

You’re all mad, I hate sorting out washing of any sort!

Home at 4am, up at 8(dogminder was bringing him back) 4 loads done and on the line by lunchtime…just waiting for the last of the towels to dry and they’ll join the rest which has now been put away.

Now what’s tomorrow’s forecast as Monday appears to have evolved into bed day…

It really doesn’t take much to satisfy me 🤣🤣

A busy day of loving the laundry today, the next 2 days are looking good too so it looks as if it will be a full catch up. Once I get as far as dressing gowns and curtains I know I’ve exhausted all possibilities!!

That ikea one looks good and at £3 it's a bargin. @artant , ooh they look good , and very useful for things that are going straight into the wardrobe.

I have metal peg hanger thingies for small items and they fold in half for storage which means I can fold them and place over the heated rail if I need them to dry there .

I think it has something like 40 pegs .

@Muchtoomuchtodo I found chocolate on my dressing gown this morning so it had to go into the wash to hide the evidence.

You know that it has to be done… the “washing prowl” means that all usual washing has been done, the weather is excellent for drying, so other stuff must be found and washed!
The ddog has got a right face on, all her blankets have been found and washed… she was on one at the time😄

Not only have I washed the bedding, I’ve washed the lightweight quilts to put on the beds too 😂
