-feel sorry for the ex wife as I'm sure their marriage broke down as they couldn't have children
-he'll probably not want the dog now when his baby is born
-don't like how he got away with drink driving accident. He still won the award for best presenter
-its so easy for a man to move on and start a new life

i'm not a young mum by any means but by the time i'm 46 my kids will be 16 and 12 and i couldn't imagine having a newborn, good luck to them but my god glad it's not me 😂

Being heavily pregnant at 33, with pregnancies earlier on, I'm really aware of how much harder it is as we start to age, my first thought was that she must feel absolutely shattered!

But then, they're not normal people, I bet shes getting the best of the best antenatal care, all her vitamin levels perfect, massages when she wants and a cleaner to rely on... or atleast, I hope she does!

mouch · 11/02/2024 05:06

I thought his ex was the Grange Hill actress. Google shows I'm wrong!

@EbonyRaven agree, and I've heard the story on here of the friend who had twins at 47 with two older 17yos about a thousand times.

It is possible at 46 to have a baby naturally, but the odds are that with a husband of 48, or was probably assisted conception. Really not that big of a deal and I'm not sure why we need to fall over ourselves to say 'no no, maybe it's natural'.

The DH was 50.

Nannyfannybanny · 11/02/2024 07:54

I was surprised, for various reasons. I had my youngest DD at 41, my second DH didn't have any. I had a miscarriage then her. I don't regret having her, I actually went through the menopause the following year, and become a grandparent to my oldest 21. I was told there was a 1 in 25 chance of Downs. It was my fittest healthiest pregnancy. I now hate that I am older than some of her partners friends grandparents, health issues kick in. She has a toddler that is very hard work.

They will make better parents then those who breed in their 20s or teens no doubt. Gen z exist for a reason.

Gen Z exist for a reason, what?

I think she's very brave doing it all over again when she has teenagers. And with a recovering addict as the father. I was a grandmother at 46.... who run me ragged and I need a lie down in a dark room when they go home.

Lisa would also help herself move on enormously by keeping quiet on SM when things like this happen. No reaction = media lose interest with her.

Spot on.

ChanelNo19EDT · 11/02/2024 09:16

I agree, I hope his x posts nothing herself, doest press like on any comments judging ant, just tumbleweed Lisa. Nothing, zip, no clues. Don't hand the daily mail a story 🤞🙏

WhattheactualFf · 10/02/2024 23:56

He set his dogs to attack Lisa?!!!

Not his literal dogs! She had some ridiculous harassment from the tabloids- pictures of her taking the bins out, the constant mentioning of her divorce settlement, all because she was Ants ex wife and had done nothing that I could see, she was used as a distraction to save Ants reputation. He could have stood up for her. He could have told his reps to stop feeding nonsense to the press. He didn't.

Namechangeforthiss · 10/02/2024 19:39

How unusual as your odds of miscarriage at 46 are 75% and that’s if you conceive at all - the conception rate is 4%. So your odds of conceiving naturally and carrying to term are overall around 1%.

Your family must be a medical marvel.

It does happen though. My uncles mum had him naturally at 51!

boobot1 · 11/02/2024 09:37

EbonyRaven · 10/02/2024 23:09

Yep, twas pretty common! As I said, I am LOLing at the posters who believe their 49-50 y.o great aunts and great grannies had babies naturally at that age. And it was definitely their baby, and definitely a natural conception, and their DH's great granny had twins in the 1940s at 51!!! Yes reaaaaallly!

Are people really this naive? 😆

My sil is a midwife. It happens more than you'd think. Having babies in your 40s is very common. Even an odd one in your 50s. Its an anomoly but it does happen.

ChanelNo19EDT · 11/02/2024 09:44

I think it was common in the old days when right into the mid forties, the body knew what to do because it had done it so recently. Having been pregnant recently makes the hormones receptive to a viable conception. Sorry paraphrasing but I read this and can't remember medical terminology.

My grandma had a baby well into her 40s and the first four were boys so she wasn't passing anybody else's baby off as her own.

How many are natural conception? I don't think it matters, but it's said a lot on here. I'm going to guess it's very rare.

Natural pregnancies at around 50, yes but live births will be very small and definitely not common.

Doesn’t matter if she does or not, they’ll just make something up. Apparently her posting something about her dog being her best friend was her ‘breaking her silence’ by ‘sharing an emotional post’ or a ‘cryptic late night post’, although conversely it also reported as her ‘ignoring baby news’.

Then followed articles entitled ‘who is Ant’s ex wife Lisa Armstrong.’

So with all the bollocks to put up with she may as well post that she’s feeling gutted (if she indeed is of course, she may be totally indifferent)

YaWeeFurryBastard · 11/02/2024 01:23

To be fair I’m sure if we found out the local joiner who’s pushing 50 and almost caused a serious drink drive accident knocked up his wife’s best mate we wouldn’t be dancing the maypole jig either.

I’m guessing most of us would just keep our snouts out.

StockpotSoup · 11/02/2024 10:53

its so easy for a man to move on and start a new life

Being a multi millionaire probably helps…

Chanxex · 11/02/2024 11:02

It’s not like it’s her first child. She’s perfectly aware of what she’s getting into. Hardly a big deal

Was she a midwife, 55+ years ago though? 🙄 If you read my post and the one I was responding to, you would have seen that I was (and the pp was) talking about pre 1970s.

And in those days, teen girls having babies, and her mum taking the child on, and presenting it as her own was quite common. Not as many great grans and great aunts had babies at 48-52 'back in the day' as some posters are trying to make out. In some cases, it was their grandchild they were raising.

Some people are breathtakingly naive.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/02/2024 11:06

I like him and wish them all the best

NoOrdinaryMorning · 11/02/2024 11:12

@Chocolatecoveredshitpig I'm speaking from experience! My parents were older than yours and I lost one of them when I was 21 and each of them had the same experience themselves. So just because your experience was fine, doesn't mean everyone's experience will be the same.

Also, Ant's new squeeze seems to have started a new life pretty well - and seemed to have managed it as easy as he did. Also, his ex has a new life too. Do people think she is sitting there crying into her cornflakes at Ant moving on and him and his new wife having a baby? She probably doesn't care!

Also, it's farcical to assume it's easier for men to start a new life after a break-up. Of course it isn't. If you split in your mid 40s, it is hard for men AND women. Many women that age and older don't take any shit from men, and they are more fussy about who they date (and quite rightly so!) So, many men struggle to find anyone to put up with shit and their lazy-ass date.

The only thing that is easier for men (at 46-47+) is having more babies. But the vast majority of women I know do not want to have any more babies past that age anyway. Purely anecdotal, but yep, I can't think of a single woman I know right now over 46-47 who wants kids/more kids. (And that is women who have them AND women who don't.)

abesnt · 11/02/2024 11:22

I often wondered why he hadn't had kids.

I didn't realise they may have had issues.

His wife doesn't look 46.

Davros · 11/02/2024 11:29

It's perfectly possible at that age but most women avoid it or already have a family. I had DD (deliberately) at 43. Victoria Coren-Mitchell anyone?

This.
it doesn’t matter she post on her SM or not, she’s never given any interviews (Ant did), yet tabloids still make up things about her and ridicule her career , for example stating: “she was a make up artist for a few programs, which were presented by Ant and Dec”. Assumption: she only got this job because she was Ant’s wife. Never mind she head of make up for Strictly Come Dancing.

Nobody is saying it's impossible, but some people are insisting it's common for women 46-51 to have babies naturally. Nah, it's not. Not common.

We don't know if VCM or any of these people has had help. Nor do we need to know, but that's besides the point.
