The wife is 46 probably being trying for a while https://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/ant-mcpartlin-dad-first-time-48-annemarie-corbett-dec-b1138334.html I hope his ex wife is ok I always felt for her.

He must be over the moon. I still haven’t forgiven him for how he faced no consequences appearance wise after his drunk driving ☹️

Wow, what a passive aggressive thread! 🤣

They're having a baby - but age.
They're having a baby - but ex wife.
They're having a baby - but past drunk driving.

I hope they and the baby will be very happy.

🤣 very true.

I mean they must be exited but it’s abit old really. 48/49 when your baby is born. 68/69 by the time they are 20. But at least they have a lot of money to support and protect the child’s future I guess.

Ignore me

Toppppop · 10/02/2024 21:26

EbonyRaven
My gm was 44 having my dad
My great aunt had second cousin well over 40
And mum got pg at 50 (did end in mc)

However i do agree it doesnt mean women now will be fertile post 35.

Possibly as my older relatives likely started periods several years later.
I think my mum was 14/15. I was just 13 but dsis 14.

My dd was only 11y2

It maybe that dgg qualiry was better before (in the way that soerm quantity is generally declining.

CuteCillian · 10/02/2024 21:27

I don't see it as brave. They will be fine.
I shuddered reading Ant say that her two DC from her first marriage called him Dad. They hadn't been married long at that point and I wondered how their father felt.
Lisa always comes over as very relatable, and I hope she is ok.
However, as others say, it's none of my business and maybe I'm tragic even considering the situation.

FatFemale · 10/02/2024 21:27

A bit old really to be having kids imo but they have money so no doubt kid will be brought up by a nanny

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 10/02/2024 21:31

Yeah I remember the press and the way he was treated in the run up to the crash......camped outside his house with stepladders when he was going through a tough time mentally, in constant agony and struggling with addiction that had started through no real fault of his own. It was abhorrent the way he was hounded.

Should he have drunk and drove ?? Absolutely not, but at the same time I can see how the pressure made him act out of character.

NoOrdinaryMorning · 10/02/2024 21:32

That's absolutely appalling and so so selfish. The poor child is going to lose their parents young

Conveniently missed out the bit where he dumped his wife for her best friend, launched a custody battle over the dog, now parading his first Time parenthood. Talk about rubbing the ex wife's nose in it!!

His ex and his wife weren't best friends. And he's not parading. And none of us know the finer detail of his split with his ex. Being happy/living your best life isnt rubbing someone's nose in it either.

Edited to say I'm happy for them 😊

Turefu · 10/02/2024 19:43

Who told you his ex didn't move on?! That's exactly how Lisa is shown in tabloids, with no evidence she didn't at all! In contrary, she had a longterm boyfriend since split, received awards for her work, had her own make up range, which sold out, causing crashing the website due demand. Conveniently , nothing of it has been mentioned by Daily Mail or The Sun.

You sure you’re not thinking of Lisa Elridge? Lisa Armstrong had a range with Avon not her own brand. 🤷🏻‍♀️

LOLing all you want, my great grandmother had 2 teenage sons when she had my grandad at 45, there was no teenage daughter for her to cover up a pregnancy for.

My Mum was 44 when she had me and my Dad was 47. I was their first and only child and this was in 1975 so no IVF. Definitely no teenage daughters to cover up for here!

cerisepanther73 · 10/02/2024 21:38

@EachandEveryone

I find Ant quite a bit over rated really,
i suppose on screen Ant comes across as likeable
but i am not sure if that is a bit of facade in some way,
Way his ex was treated and using his wealth and status to get away with drink driving which potentially can have life threatening ramifications,

I am bit susprised,
I am celebrity get of here tv series is still going all those years,

I feel a bit sorry for the insects life in Aussie world having to contend with z list wannabe jaded celebrities out there,

To be honest i couldn't care less he is going to become a father

I suspose he will be on " Hello and other trite celebrities magazines too.

LambriniBobinIsleworth · 10/02/2024 21:40

I feel very sad for his ex wife. Weren't the rumours that they tried for a baby for many years? And she didn't seem to take the break up well (understandably, they'd been together for donkeys years). Her social media has been very sad and angry over the years; I think that she was badly let down by both AP and his new wife (didn't she work for them?) This feels like a final kick in the teeth for her. I hope that she's going to be okay.

That could happen to anyone. I lost my parent at 11. My best friend lost her mum at 18. My friends husband lost his mum at 15.

none were old. Shit happens. I’d have rather have had healthy older parents and lost them when I was 30 than lost them at 11.

dh was a later in life baby- again no older sister in the family. His parents live until their 90’s so he had them around much longer than I had mine. They at least saw him to adulthood and met their grandchildren.

Ametora · 10/02/2024 21:43

FastAndLast · 10/02/2024 19:42

It is, and I know you’ve no reason to believe anecdotes by anonymous members, but my grandad’s mum was 45 when she had him.
I do agree though, it is more likely they have had some intervention. Best of luck to them.

You may well find out that she didn't give birth to him
It was not uncommon to take babies from unmarried family members or your own children and pass them off as your own.

78Summer · 10/02/2024 21:45

As they have plenty of money their age will hardly be an issue they can hire help.

10ThousandSpoons · 10/02/2024 21:46

He split from his ex in 2018. I don't think she needs your pity. Can't you just be happy a new life is coming into the world without making it about his ex?

I can't stand this man. People are quick to forget that he's cheated on his wife with her friend and drove while drunk causing an accident that could have killed someone.

If it was a woman presenter her career would've been finished but that's the double standards of the patriarchy for you.

Having said that, I wish the baby is healthy and all

onlythebrave3 · 10/02/2024 21:50

Snugglemonkey that is so statistically unlikely, to be unheard of. Were there teenage / 20's unmarried daughters?

10ThousandSpoons · 10/02/2024 21:52

Don't be so bloody ridiculous and melodramatic. My mum and dad had my brother aged 46 and 47 - he's now 32 and they're both still very much alive and kicking; my dad still works full time running a successful business! My DH on the other hand, his parents had him in their early 30's and he lost his dad when he was 25 and his mum 9 years later. You can lose your parents at any age!

It's not the usual age to be having your first kid though is it?

Yozzer87 · 10/02/2024 22:06

It isn’t her first child.

it was a normal age to still be having children before birth control when women had no choice.

it’s unusual now because very few women want children at that age.

LorlieS · 10/02/2024 22:09

@LambriniBobinIsleworth Whilst I understand all that, surely it's OK for him to move on and have a child with his second wife?
My husband's first wife couldn't have children, despite them trying. But I'm sure she was accepting of it and happy for us when she found out I was pregnant.
