Sorry you found that hard. Both my mum and two aunts had babies at that age (and older!) and it was a breeze for them.
I think most women do the 'so hard/so old' once they're mentally and emotionally out of that stage and can't imagine going back. A minority do it just to undermine and exclude though.
I'm in my early 40s and while I have no desire at all to go back to the newborn stage, or even through pregnancy again, I don't feel so decrepit in my 40s that having a baby would floor me.
It's a bit sad so many women, who are still fairly young, have so little energy. Makes you wonder how our generation will cope with working until 71!
