He must be over the moon. I still haven’t forgiven him for how he faced no consequences appearance wise after his drunk driving ☹️

You sure you’re not thinking of Lisa Elridge? Lisa Armstrong had a range with Avon not her own brand. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm talking about Lisa Armstrong, her range with Avon. It was very successful and for some reason it wasn't mentioned how well it was doing, just when it was finished.
Tabloids need to leave them alone. Let Ant and Anne-Marie to be happy and raise their baby.
And let Lisa have her career and stop assuming , if she liked a post on social media, it was a passive-agressive way to comment on one-and-only-Ant-the-greatest.

A baby is a blessing

Not always, no.

@EbonyRaven agree, and I've heard the story on here of the friend who had twins at 47 with two older 17yos about a thousand times.

It is possible at 46 to have a baby naturally, but the odds are that with a husband of 48, or was probably assisted conception. Really not that big of a deal and I'm not sure why we need to fall over ourselves to say 'no no, maybe it's natural'.

Yeah me too. I have also seen that story of a 47-50 year old who has teens, and then falls pregnant (NATURALLY!) 😆

I have known about half a dozen women - in my life - who had a baby 15-20 years after the last one, but they were 36-42, Not 50. And NO woman I know has ever had a baby 30 years after her first!

Soooo much anecdata on here from some posters claiming this aunt and that granny had a baby at nearly 50, naturally. It's quite remarkable. and as I said they were, in most cases, the granny!

As you said, even if natural conception (at 48-50ish,) did happen, it would be vanishingly rare. And the way some posters are peddling having babies as something that is easily possible, and can happen to anyone and everyone at 48-50, is both misleading, dangerous advice, and quite cruel (filling women with the hope that they can conceive after 45 so easily.)

The amount of women becoming pregnant naturally, when they are knocking the door of 50 - is microscopic. As some posters have said, there is a reason for this. IMO I don't think it's a good idea to become a parent after 42 y.o. I wish Ant and his wife well, but someone having a baby past their early 40s doesn't sit well with me.

Ugh can't stand Ant or his new wife.. I bet he can be a right ass and his wife looks bit tricky to me, cat who got the cream hm

Redmat · 10/02/2024 22:42

My great grandmother married at 42 and had all three of her children after that.

I don’t think his ex wife should be a consideration tbh, she needs to move on, lots of divorced couples go on to have children, their divorce must be 5 or 6 years ago now. When you work out their ages when the child is 18 though, that’s more of a consideration tbh. But I wish them well for a healthy baby and a happy life.

Eh? You are advising his wife to move on? You don’t just recon its tabloid spin? But now she’s read this post she’ll move on with her divorce many years ago?

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 10/02/2024 22:53

I think it's horrible the way people constantly feel that it's their right to comment on other people's pregnancies, fertility and whether or not they have children.

Women are criticised about their reproductive choices (or lack of choices in sone cases constantly) - too young, too old, too quickly, waited issues, must via ivf etc.

Most if it comes from women too and it's really pathetic.

It’s equally irresponsible to be adamant that women can’t get pregnant in their 40’s, and if they do, it’s assisted or some elaborate cover up for a teen pregnancy.

i’m 49. I still have regular periods, physical signs of ovulation and no sign of menopause. Now I know statistically the chances of pregnancy at my age are low, but considering most women my age will be peri or post menopausal, then I am more likely to be in the small % of women that do get pregnant.

I sure as hell am not going to take the chance.

my dr has warned me that it is possible and to continue with contraception until periods have been stopped for a year. She says it’s not uncommon for late in life babies to be born to women who think it’s safe to stop contraception because they’re over a certain age.

BrainInAJar · 10/02/2024 22:57

If ant had been just ant and not part of ant n dec his career wld have been finished by the drink driving.

Horrible man. Disappointed to see him in the bbc documentary behind the scenes of the coronation as well. Some charity function or something. He shld have been jailed.

motheronthedancefloor · 10/02/2024 22:58

I'm pleased for him. He does seem healthier and happier now. I guess fertility problems played a part in his previous marriage breakdown alongside other things. I do think Lisa could have kept a dignified silence and moved on.

BrainInAJar · 10/02/2024 22:58

Agree about the babies born to menopausal mothers. Were often a cover for a teen pregnancy.

WhattheactualFf · 10/02/2024 23:06

@EbonyRaven Why would you side eye when someone is pregnant over 45? What do you mean?

WhattheactualFf · 10/02/2024 23:06

@ssd What do you mean by brave, why brave??

WhattheactualFf · 10/02/2024 23:07

So many people on here just sound like they feel really ancient…in their 40’s 🤷🏻‍♀️very odd

Yep, twas pretty common! As I said, I am LOLing at the posters who believe their 49-50 y.o great aunts and great grannies had babies naturally at that age. And it was definitely their baby, and definitely a natural conception, and their DH's great granny had twins in the 1940s at 51!!! Yes reaaaaallly!

Are people really this naive? 😆

Treehugger22 · 10/02/2024 23:14

They will make better parents then those who breed in their 20s or teens no doubt. Gen z exist for a reason.

Naptrappedmummy · 10/02/2024 23:15

The stories of conceiving at 41 or even 42/43 are pretty irrelevant because fertility doesn’t decline in a consistent gradual slope, post 40 it decreases at a faster and faster rate until your odds of ttc naturally and successfully at 45 are just 1%. At 46 that will be even lower.

I feel like the trend of older motherhood (nothing wrong with it) means women feel they have to stick up for fellow older mums and make out motherhood is still a natural thing even well into middle age. It isn’t, apart from in very rare cases, but that doesn’t mean people are judging, just that they’re pointing out the obvious.

Riverlee · 10/02/2024 23:16

Hope the pregnancy goes well for them and sending congratulations.

Totally agree, very strange. Also the accusatory tone against people who say they know people giving birth in their mid-late 40s. I know two such people just in my circle - one happy about it, one not. I’m not sure they were “medical marvels”! It’s really not as impossible as some people are making out, why would others lie about it? Bizarre. Many women who start trying for their first baby later in life would always have been infertile but never realised it.

He’s a recovering(?) alcoholic whose drink driving was all over the news and both will be well into their 60s when their child finishes school. You clearly have a chip on your shoulder, but come on.

Tattletwat · 10/02/2024 23:19

Best of luck to her , not to ant though he's a scumbag.

She's 46...wow I don't imagine that's going to easy.

They have lots of money so can get a housekeeper, gardener ,cleaner and a night nurse to do the night feeds plus a nanny if they want a night out .

I am happy for them, Im sure it wont have been an easy journey & that they will be over the moon.

I also feel sorry for Lisa, I believe they really wanted kids together & it didnt happen- very difficult to come to terms with. This will be salt in her wound for sure.

I thought this when I heard the news. Of course it’s lovely for the new couple, but he was very open about trying for a baby with his ex wife and I can imagine it hurt for her to hear. She put up with a lot from him too.
